 In this situation, discipline in road Transport is very essential. Toad transport means the transportation of goods and personnel from one place to another on roads. There are many advantages of road transport in the compulsion to other means of transport. The investment required in road transport is very less compared to other modes of transport such as railways and airports.

The total number of registered motor vehicles in Bangladesh as of march 2018 is 3.4 million. It seems to be calculated conservatively the number of drivers are 18 million, among them are 60’s illiterate.

A huge number of death from indiscriminate driving on the highway

According to the latest WHO’s data published in 2017 on road traffic accidents, details in Bangladesh reached 20660 or 2.62% of the total deaths.

Death and damaged properties caused in by road accidents have become a daily and deadly phenomenon in Bangladesh, which has one of the worst crash rates in the world.

Law implementation to reduce road accidents on the main road.

Banning unfit and small vehicles on main road pavement

In order to reduce road accidents we have to take some steps. We have established discipline on the road, banning three-wheelers slow moving vehicles like easy bikes, battery-run rickshaws, Nasiman, Kariman, and human handlers on highways. Our government has already decided that the highest speed limit on highways 80 km/h.

Removing illegal shops and other establishments from the main roadside

Bringing discipline to road transport must involve the concatenation of multipronged attempts. The government must make the pathways open by clearing off shops, and construction materials pillars of the footbridge, setting zebra crossing, setting separate lanes for low speedy vehicles, and providing adequate numbers of bus stoppage by bringing all public buses under 4-5 companies and introducing metro and monorail.

If we able to provide all the steps, we will overcome fatal road accidents as well as a traffic jams. There is no alternative to implementing discipline in our road transport system. To establish a developing country we have to confirm our security and safety in all spheres of life.
