A Message from a Tumblr Prime

The Transformers fandom has finally been given an update on the status of Transformers One, and not the kind it was hoping for:

Josh Cooley confirmed that Paramount has no plans to continue forward with a sequel to the 2024 movie at this time.

This can be blamed on:

the movie’s underperformance at the box office,

Hasbro deciding to no longer fund movies,

Paramount’s upcoming merger with Skydance,

The shift of priorities regarding animated movies.

I know how this looks, everyone, so I’ve compiled a list of facts and speculation to clear up any confusion before someone gets hurt:

Josh said no sequel is CURRENTLY being planned.

The entire trilogy for all three movies has already been mapped out by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and he’s still very hopeful it will happen one day. And when I say mapped out, I mean extensively, beginning middle and end. If Skydance likes it, they could very well greenlight it. It would also lower the risk when/if Paramount decides to revisit it.

The cast WANTS to come back for it.

The movie is actually performing better on streaming AND internationally than it did in just the American box office. This is what the executives are actually paying attention to.

If there’s no hiccups with the Skydance merger, this could mean animation veterans mixed with new animators. Skydance’s animation style fits perfectly with the animation style of Transformers One.

Hasbro does not own the film rights to Transformers. Paramount does. If anything, Hasbro pulling back from film funding means Paramount has MORE room to make creative decisions and listen to the audiences instead of watching the schedule for toy releases.

We are not alone in this.

You may not see it loudly, but many in the fandom DO love this movie, and ARE just as angry it flopped and ARE organizing campaigns to prove it.

Got to ask, what do you think (post-frame sparking) Bee would look like/act like if he was raise by humans???? Not necessarily Sari’s family but just by humans in general

He'd be tiny according to his frame's standards, like half his height. To Cybertronians he looks underdeveloped with his softer edges and his handle having integrerad into his alt-mode disguise instead of falling off. As for personality he's basically the same person just with human standards in mind. Like he sees a Decepticon and is like "YOU'RE EXPECTING ME TO FIGHT THAT THING???" instead of going hell yeah I can take this. He'd probably think Cybertronians are weird in general like why are you so serious all the time hello?? Weren't you in a millennia of peace???

As said previous he can use regular food as fuel and you bet he exclusively eats junk food, he likes that grease. Technically whether or not the food is rotting doesn't matter but his sense of smell is a lot more sensitive here so like the minute its expired he gives it to the racoons.

*takes the pickles* Welcome to my incredibly subjective presentation about character design in Earthspark. Today’s topic - half of those robots are bald.

First of all. These robots are normal. Look at them. The metal of their helmets has thickness to it. Their eyes are close to the hairline(helm..line?) Their helmets are also “wrapped” around them in the way that covers their cheeks. Those are good good nice designs. I love to see them. They look healthy.

And then we have. I don’t know. This??⬇️ Like girl who shaved you??? Where’s all the metal?? Her helm is as thin as a foil and there’s no pieces covering her cheeks?? There’s also huge empty space above her eyes that LOOKS like there must be eyebrows but it’s empty? That is so uncanny

Now when I’m done complaining explaining. Let me just. Let me just show you my vision. Let me just tweak those designs a little bit so they don’t look bald.

I just gave their helmets the same things I was describing above. Some volume and thickness to the metal. Metal plates covering their cheeks. And a bit of shadows above their eyes because bruh either give them eyebrows or don’t leave THAT much weird empty space

In case of Nightshade I went a little further and gave them a bit of ornaments. Because they don’t look like owl when they’re in their root mode. They look like fish. Am I the only one who sees that? Idk. Anyway
