the idea of public restrooms as "women's spaces" continues to confound me. you know who I hope is in a public bathroom when I go in?? no one. I would prefer no one else be in the bathroom. and if someone else is in the bathroom I am going to ignore them as much as possible. I did not go into the bathroom to connect with other women. I went into the bathroom to piss and/or shit. it's a toilet's space, not a women's space. shut the fuck up and let trans people piss and shit in peace. let's all continue to avoid eye contact with each other and any and all interaction in the toilet's space.

hey guys i've been assigned four days of back to back 12 hour shifts this week that i must show up for despite my deteriorating health and the whole time i was just thinking about Mohammed (@ayeshjourney). for those who still don't know, Mohammed Ayesh is the ONLY active vetter (@gaza-evacuation-funds) we have on tumblr at the moment, and he actively meets with, talks to, and verifies families in need in the midst of ever-escalating iof attacks.

it is a little known fact that Mohammed's day job is in health care. other than the small moments when there are no catastrophic bombardments when he could find internet and verify families' campaigns for us, he is transporting wounded and martyred Palestinians every single day and night. in an active war zone.

there hasn't been donations to Mohammed in almost 4 hours. this is incredibly scary, especially since the iof announced another round of systematic raids on central Gaza, where Mohammed works and where his family lives, just today.

from one health care worker to another, from one countryman who fears for the future of his country, who strives to do the best he can for his fellow compatriots, please. donate whatever you can spare. my humble request is that we can help Mohammed's family get to 25k by the end of week.

Urgent! Help 10 children buy food to survive!

Mahmoud (@mahmoudfamily1) is really worried about his family because they are struggling to get food and things are getting worse. They have 17 people and the money is not enough for them to live on. Because of the surging prices of food in Gaza, the daily cost of the family is #300 a day. $300 every single day just to stay alive! Mahmoud has been fundraising for more than 5 months and has only raised $4,139. This will only keep them alive for 13 days!

The 10 children in his family are suffering from constant diarrhea and stomachaches due to malnutrition and the contaminated food and water. There is no clean water at all! After watching the children in pain for so long, Mahmoud's brother cannot bear to see the children suffer and went to see if he can buy some vegetables for them. He looked at all the markets and found only 1 onion available. That single piece of onion costs $4 when before it costs only $0.3 for 1kg of onions. That's 7900% more expensive than usual! There has been no meat at all for a long time.

There are also 3 babies in Mahmoud's family. There are no diapers for them, and even if they are available, they are often to expensive for the family to afford. Mahmoud's sister also needs medicine as she suffers from many infections due to giving birth in an unhygienic environment in the middle of this genocidal war. But there is barely money for food, and medicine are also expensive!

Moreover, they have no shelter since the tent they had was completely destroyed in a bombing! The winter will bring freezing temperature and heavy rain, and they don't even have a tent to sleep in!

It’s insane to me that Dragon Age 2 is sandwiched in between two WAY HUGER and WAY MORE SUCCESSFUL games about more traditional fantasy protagonists facing off against world ending threats and winning and it’s this…weird, raw, personal tragedy about how no matter what you do, you can’t always stop crisis and disaster from occurring. Like The Hero or Ferelden, no matter who they were, wants to stop a Blight. The Inquisitor wants to repair the sky. And Hawke, like, wants to make some money, hang around their friends, and keep their family and their adoptive city safe. And they can’t even fucking do that, so unlike the heroes before and after them. You spend seven years in Kirkwall until the game says, “yeah, no matter what, the prejudices and traumas and hurts of this world are Too Much for one person to stop them. The world changes, wars roll over the land, you cannot stop history, Hawke. You tried. You failed.” And then you just sit there, sixteen years old, listening to “I’m Not Calling You A Liar” and you’re like….well, I guess I really wasn’t a hero. Damn. I love it.

Bad news/good news:

Bad: I cracked the screen I was using in the SymMoDe* prototype so I'll have to get a new one

Good news: the ribbon cable came and gives us enough space to have the handheld closed when not in use

What needs to be done to get the prototype ready: get a new screen, a short micro usb cable and a usb sim card interface. Get some measurements and design a 3D printable bracket for the screen to slide into. Do some software testing.

Hello, November is unfortunately looking to be a very difficult month for me financially. I have an appointment with an out of network doctor to get a prescription to help me better function day to day because I've been struggling a lot after having Covid in August. This is $185, my general insurance renewal for next year is $245, all of my meds are around $200, and with groceries and other expenses I anticipate needing around $950 in financial assistance this month.
