Male children are beardless, though at an early age they have abundant hair on their head.
Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man
You're right, Darwin. But then they grow up, grow their beards, and never look back. That's what beard privilege does to you. It makes you forget your past.

Beard privilege is not being denied entry into a beard competition because your facial hair is "imaginary."

Hi! I've been reading your blog, and I think that I may also be a trans-barbic individual. What can I do to become part of this community?
First, I'd like to say congratulations on exploring your identity! I know it can be scary, but there are plenty of people here online to help support you!
As for becoming a part of the community, you've already begun! I'm the only transbarbic blogger I've come across, but I know there are more of us out there somewhere. And remember, this blog isn't only a safe place for transbarbic individuals, it's also a place for any person (beardless or otherwise) to learn about beard privilege and transbarbism.
Thanks for your question, and I hope to see you around the interwebs, anon!

Beard Privilege 101
How do I know if I have beard privilege?
Do you have a beard? Then you have beard privilege! Simple as that.
What is beard privilege?
Privilege is defined as "a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to one person or group of people." So beard privilege is any right or advantage granted to bearded individuals.
Beard privilege isn't even a thing.
That’s not a question. Please try again.
Is beard privilege really a thing?
Yep.
No it isn’t.
Tell that to the countless individuals who experience beardism on a daily basis. It’s real.
What can I do to prevent beardism?
Treat non-bearded individuals exactly like you would a person with a beard. It’s not that hard. Don’t ask invasive questions like “Why can’t you grow a beard?” or “So you don’t even have to shave?” It’s none of your business. Also avoid using beardist slurs, even jokingly.
Those are the basics, but don’t be afraid to ask questions! I’m here to educate.
