If you were in charge of Chaotic's revival, how would you go about marketing it and drumming up interest in it since it would be roughly 20 years since Chaotic first launch in 2006 in a year and a couple of months from now?
Honestly?
Make it fun. Have small tournaments and sealed draft releases, kind of like how MTG runs events. Partner with shops and their social media, but make the game fun.
The biggest problem is that you’re starting from scratch -you can play on nostalgia, sure, but that’s not necessarily going to recruit new fans. The draw of the show was the world and characters, it was kids imagining themselves in it. The actual product was not as fun, and I know that there were no events or communities near me. Whereas when I went to my first Magic event, the people were exceptionally kind and supportive of new players. I got my butt kicked by people who have played for decades and were teaching their kids, it was amazing. That’s an institutional amount of building that only is possible after incredible lengths of time.
Yes, Chaotic was largely played online, but not everyone is able to have broadband or WiFi. You need to make it accessible, build community, and that eventually steamrolls into a dedicated base.
Yugioh is crazy in the anime and the TCG is incredibly customizable and fun. MTG and its crossovers, simultaneously silly and serious stories, is a delight but can have a high bar for entry. Then you have Pokémon, which is fun, accessible, and has plenty for people of all ages to enjoy.
There’s an uphill battle, sure, but I’m hopeful.

The completed brain rot! Still not too content with how the Zekyn (the red tiefling) finished out. He’s also a really hard character to draw in general. It’s a lot more cartoony than I’ve been trying to render lately, so I’m kind of still going back and forth on everything.
Red tends to lean into different purples, blue reflections, grays, and oranges, but his player likes him to have a much more unified, bright red. This lends itself to making the character look flat.
I try to keep these things in mind when drawing Chaor or other UnderWorlders. Having mottling, color variance, and understanding where the cool tones and neutral tones land help sell the form of the character.

WIP.
Really trying to nail consistent clothing/character designs. Still a lot to do, but this has been cracking me up and I love how this is turning out.

Hello! This is very random. You were the first person I followed on Tumblr. And the first person I've found who loves Chaotic too. And even when your posts have nothing to do with the show, I get so happy when I see you've posted. I hope that's not stressful for you and please don't feel like you have to respond. I just wanted you to know that you make someone happy, just by existing. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, it just good Wednesday. Thank you for the sparks of joy you've given me❤️
Thank you 🥰 I know I don’t post as much as I used to, that tends to happen when you have a full time job- but I’m glad that this blog makes you happy and has built a space where you can spend some zen time and talk about our favorite cartoon

Been having D&D brain rot. Currently trying to imagine what races/classes the Tribal leaders and their generals would be, on top of doodling my current party in those “draw the squad” memes

Not bad for my second attempt at embroidering a jacket! Still need to fill up the space with more star-flowers!

How old is Maxxor?
Personally I always imagined that Creatures age far slower than humans. A lot of their designs are generic “could be any reasonable adult age” with a few exceptions.
That being said, I usually lean towards 30-40s? Same thing with most Creatures in that ambiguous category tbh, but that’s mostly because I’m kind of bad with ages and we don’t really see too many younger ones.

So you know how the other option for the poll was the trans flag colors? Well, turns out the OW and UW support trans rights because they have faded to almost the perfect shades of pink and blue!
I did it!

Do you know if Mujics are all called 'Song of -insert words-', or are there variations of song like hymn, rhapsody, tune, ect? I've rewatched some episodes but can't really find much.
Aegis Aria, Refrain of Denial, Fortissimo, Diminuendo (I think?) are some I vaguely remember? It’s part of why I named the ones I made in such a way.

Here’s a really rough sketch of some Torch-Bearers! Just trying to see how I want to visualize some of the concepts. Much can still change, but here’s my starting points:
Iohrix tend to have purple to gray pigmentation, along with stumpy, short tails. There’s a bit of scaling in their hides that resembles the stones of their region, and jewel-like hues at their edges. They’re incredible metal-smiths and like to flaunt that. This one is wearing a battle crown!
Gherix usually have green pigmentation that varies to reflect their local flora and most even have some subtle form of striping (similar to those of king cheetahs) if you look close enough!
Alkrix are the ones I have to develop the most. They’re the ones you’re more likely to see at the shorelines and fjords. They’re great glass makers and artisans, usually creating jewelry or more practical pieces.
I really hope y’all like how I’m redoing my Rhexian headcanons and traits. I hope they come out nearly half as good as I’m planning them to be.
Just want to make a big ol’ sheet of stuff so people can make their own OCs with them

If the series getting a reboot was something you were consulted for, would you redo the original episodes? Or make new ones? Are there any you'd scrap completely?
I'd do a huge overhaul. I have quite a few episodes I'd either scrap completely or heavily alter.
My primary issue with the writing is that, even for a 'monster of the week' show, no development sticks to the characters. You don't need to have an over-arching story to maintain a status quo, but you do need consistency and characterization to evolve. It's strange to me that the Creatures end up having more development than the primary cast we follow; it's cute that Chaor starts to be used to Kaz to the point that he's got a nickname for the kid and knows what kind of shenanigans he'd pull, and same with the Maxxor kind of starting to treat Tom similarly. But those same kids? They only have things kind of start sticking in season 2, yet even then it's not by much.
My secondary issue is that the primary cast are kind of mean. Like, fun to watch, but you'd never want to be near those guys IRL. I've said it before, but they also don't really seem like good friends all that much beyond Tom and Kaz, and even then there are moments where they snipe each other for no reason or antagonize each other -which gets played straight, instead of showing them devolving into some sort of in-joke or laughter that clues us as the audience that 'no, this is actually a toothless comment and we've got high esteem and trust with each other.'
I'm also someone who just really loves building and creating fantasy worlds, so it's an amazing sand-box for me to play in, hence why so many of my dumb little projects over here are so wildly divergent from the canon.
I know it was made to sell stuff, but so are many other cartoons and with how some cartoons nowadays are really works of art, I'd hope that the show would rise to that level- especially in the hands of the right studio (imagine if Flying Bark got this, man those action scenes would be spectacular).

Question about the outworlder au, where would most of the main cast and oc cast be most often seen and what would they be most often doing?
Oh, it takes place on a different continent!
The OutWorlder AU is centered on Herunah, a huge land mass cut into swaths of land each Master rules. The central place where these kingdoms meet is where the actual Chaotic is built, essentially their version of Kirvac Mound, but instead of moving through time, it uses pathways through space to get people to where they need to be.
What started as a project to explore the world and see what other resources were out there accidentally malfunctioned, breaking reality there. That’s how they can get to Earth, and the Masters are trying to fix their broken kingdoms.
The primary cast from the show are in Herunian Chaotic, or the smaller lands surrounding it. The kids are confused, they don’t know what’s going on or why they’re trapped here. Sure, it’s the same world as Perim but they don’t know anything about this place and the Masters aren’t exactly garnering goodwill from their former Players/now subjects.
The OC crew had always focused on the lore of Perim and the world as a whole, so they have more understanding of what’s going on, but not by much.
I think their weirdest thing about this AU is that all 8 kids are working together (barely, but they’re trying) to see if there’s a way they can go back to Perim or Earth.
They don’t find one, they do find something far worse.
A lot of this was just for me to start building a version of the world that made sense since there’s a lot of cool concepts in the show that don’t always work with one another. Just wanted to have fun :3
