Cultural Identity Hero
Each one of these novels, talks, and narrative encompasses the identity of the cultural hero through a common theme of separating a large topic and narrowing it down to target a specific group. The identity of the cultural hero is one that is superior to that of the universal hero because a cultural identity hero can be found in almost every country, religion, ethnic group, or race. Not only does it create a unique and special meaning to those of that certain group, but it also provides a hope that is more comforting. To be able to relate a hero that embodies a particular trait of oneself not only gives it more a meaning, but also provides more fuel to a person or nation that is trying to achieve a goal. Thus, a cultural identity hero is one that creates a connection to a small group of people but can have an overwhelming effect on a large amount of people for generations to come.

The theatrical adaptations that were acquired for the Mark Haddon鈥檚 novel The Curious Incident of Dog in the Night-time was that the playmaker needed to find a way for the audience of all ages to be able to understand and interpret Christopher. Another adaptation that took place was the actors and actresses in the play. Each actor had to develop his or her mindset and body language to that of Christopher鈥檚 in order to understand him to keep the play as portrayed as in the novel. The actor that played Christopher had to develop a mindset of his and learn how to act, react, and talk like him. There are many theatrical adaptations that took place in order to take Mark Haddon鈥檚 novel from the book to the stage but each one had its own reasoning behind it.
