Fat people: *pressured, told, and commanded to diet more than any other group*

Dieting: *causes a person to binge and feel out of control around food due to restricting vital nutrients and what a person's body needs for survival*

Fat people: *endure a wage gap, job discrimination, workplace harassment, and severe poverty*

Poverty: *causes starvation, food insecurity, stress, and other factors that can make a person overeat when food is available or feel out of control around food as well as limit what types of food a person is able to obtain*

A random fat person: *binges and feels out of control around food because they've been dieting since they were 8 years old and have never actually left the state of dieting, all while also being poor and food insecure at the same time*

Society: Wow. This is the confirmation I will use to form my worldviews and decide that the stereotypes about fat people that are used to oppress them really are accurate. There is no other possible reason for why this random fat person I don't know is overeating and out of control around food. You are what you eat. The human body is not complex at all.

do y’all remember usernames??? from back when every fuckin website didn’t need your email phone number home address social security number just to join/sign up for something?? when you could make website-specific accounts that weren’t linked to literally anything else??? they tried to boil us like a frog slowly switching to “username/email” and then just asking for your email. but I remember. I remember usernames.

nothing frustrates me more than when adults refuse to even slightly indulge the questions and thoughts of children. i remember one time when one of my younger cousins accidentally stumbled across the concept of purchasing power parity because she realised 10 rupees which bought her 10 candies in India only bought her ~3 candies when we went on holiday to Japan, and when she asked her mother about “why the same things cost different amounts in different places” my aunt had the audacity to call her spoiled for not understanding the “”worth” of money, that’s not what she was ASKING damn it!! your daughter just set up her own big mac index and realised a key metric of macroeconomics!!! how do you not find that utterly fascinating !! why don’t adults talk to children !!

laws should be written by simple language.

scientific books should be written by simple language.

studies should be written by simple language.

rules & regulations should be written by simple language.

every information, especially important one, should be written by simple language.

it's basic accessibility. people with intellectual disability, people with developmental disabilities, people with learning disabilities, people with language processing issues/language impairment, people with brain fog/low concentration, and people with other conditions that make comprehension difficult should have access to every information, especially important one.

i'm autistic and have some language processing issues. so i feel very isolated when i can't read studies, articles, books, and other info. i'm really interested in it, but can't process language. so i have to rely on others' interpretations instead of original text.

i wanna have access to first-hand information. i wanna have the opportunity to form my own opinion, not rely on others' explanations.

btw, "simple language" doesn't mean "avoid complicated ideas & nuances", it means "explain complicated ideas & nuances using mostly simple words and short sentences".
