“Welcome Miss Alrose , right this way please.” The usher announced , swaying his hand back and forth while descending you to a pathway down the magnificent stairs , the one you’d always dreamed of running down to. It was a great venture to be invited to a formal hall , however this wasn’t something you craved for.

Being a part of Alrose and Comrades came along with a lot of benefits including being invited for a great ball. You smiled softly as you watched Frederick and Anne , your sister-in-law indulge in a fun number on the floor , he twirled her around and you could almost hear the fit of giggles escaping her lips.

You dreaded over the idea of not finding a love capable for you , having to live a life with oneself was truly a shame and something you feared especially after witnessing your parent’s relationship come to an end.

The words of your father rang through your ears , being an Alrose always meant to follow your heart , leave all the decisions to it. You brushed off your grief a little too late as you stumbled upon something-someone in particular.

“That’s all rubbish.” He snarled , “it was your idea to depict the loosen strings on your shoe , your main motive ? To fall over me and gain my attention.” The smirk seemed to have grown bigger in comparison ever since the wicked words ceased away from his mouth.

“And you must be insane !” You glared at the man to death , yet there wasn’t a single shiver of shame. “I certainly am not like the other mistresses you’re willing to have , I suggest you leave me alone or you’ll have to bear the consequences. My brother works with the police department.” You addressed.

Frederick was only a few meters away , one call and he’d be off to your help right by your side.

You glared at the stranger once again before turning your back to him , the piercing darts of his eyes followed their way back to you. If it was anything an Alrose couldn’t bear it was definitely a lie.
