Bad News UK users had to be blocked from transid.org
sorry for the delayed announcement this happened a few weeks ago! Please see the other post today about the transrace survey/scientific study for some good news. In order to comply with "The UK Online Safety Act 2023" to the best thing we can do at this time is to block all UK users. If you are from the UK and the wiki stops working that is the intended behavior unfortunately. I do not hate the UK! But when running a website, all laws from countries around the world must be complied with. The UK government only left us with a few choices.
1.we could collect ID for users who register. (But we wish to respect your privacy) 2.we could if anyone noticed us, argue in a court (I think in a UK court) that we are of a classification that does not require to collect ID. I can't afford a lawyer. We could likely lose., 3.shut down. 4.block all devices in the UK.
We picked option 4.
More Trouble brewing: This is likely a band aid none permanent solution. Similar laws might pass in Australia and the US. I live in in the US. If and when a US law requires websites to collect ID is when we shut down. Like I live there. I can't block myself from wiki access and leave it up for the rest of the world that would be an administrative nightmare.
If a law like this in the US passes DM me (better to do on Discord) make darn sure I know about it. I will start preparing a more complete backup for the wiki if this day comes. If that day comes I'll try not not only provide a viewable wiki but also hopefully instructions on how to host the wiki will be included. I will in that case do my best to pass the torch and no longer be affiliated with the wiki. There might be some other countries in the world where the legal landscape is different. No need in contacting me if you want the wiki's torch but be careful legally. If this happens I'll make the none personal wiki data/personal accounts are there. It would be a torrent anyone can download. Torrent means it's up to our community (our computers) to host the file into the future.

The link below is a link to a survey for a real transrace/rcta (ETC.) published scientific paper! Previous studies of our community failed to break out of the double-digits in numbers of participants. We need you! The more people who take the survey, the more seriously this study will be taken. We hope the results of this study clear up misconceptions about us How can I help? Take it. Take the survey now while you are thinking about it! Spread the word. I want this plastered over every trace, RCTA,… community online, Discord servers, Tiktok, Tumblr… everywhere. I want every friend or acquaintance you have in our community to know about it! How do I know it is legit? I personally emailed a scientist who had written a paper on us with a few participants. He was interested in doing something similar, but bigger. He seems like a good ally from talking to him. I, Yuki, the messenger, am very active in our community, moderating multiple trace related communities. Still not convinced? If needed, I can provide some of the email chain if people need it in a future post. https://cryptpad.fr/form/#/2/form/view/PNlIhe4f5XvDmiq3vw9yUVbm5GMrJF+7FX-7dfXQaaI/

All Transid identities welcome on Transid.org
I just wanted to make it clear that all identities are welcome on the wiki please write freely about them. And the golden rule of our Discord sever is don't do anything illegal. I make this statement because some people in the community felt excluded in the past. Please read between the lines a bit on what I mean by this statement. If any clarification is needed you can reach out on Discord to a moderator. Tap the Discord buttons on the site (transid.org) to find our Discord link.

Important for the website for me is a version of asks, and pm's. Group chats would be cool though
The website at launch as been scaled back to just a wiki. But we do have a private discord server where you can use those features. Those features might come in the future, but there are many technical hurdles we would need to overcome.

Hey, I want to work with websites when I grow up, I’m also transID and I’m really happy to someone that’s a site developer and also transID, I don’t find the link of your site if you can show me, nice blog!
It took longer than expected it's at transid.org. I think anyone can make a website. There are a lot of different skills. You can be a coder, or an artist, or run the servers. Do you have a website that is a dream website you want to build. I'm happy to be building mine right now. I'm not the usually most active on Tumblr (hoping to change that) but if you want any advice on how to make websites please reach out. I'm still an amateur I don't do this for a living right now. But I could point you in the right direction

Transid ORG status
I made a lot of promises with what the Transidorg site could deliver. No promises this time but I think I can deliver something reduced in scope (a wiki). The Wiki was most highly requested on the poll. This may or may not expand later. I bit off more than I could chew. I will make an effort to post once a month not to go silent again. I will need a small group of site testers. DM me on here. I will not respond to the dms until I am looking to onboard testers (explained below). That's the most important stuff out of the way but feel free to read on. 3 reasons for my hiatus on the project were 1. Too big a project and being overwhelmed so I made the project smaller. 2. burnout so now I am limiting myself to a max of 4 hours a day. 3. lack of motivate because of mean messages. That's why I'm going to wait until I think the site is ready, to look at all the messages and recruit testers. Then after we all use it I'll know it's ready. Not reading these messages is my way of staying focused. To those who I said could mod I think it would be best to get to know everyone better first. Those people (who were promised to be mods) will start as early testers. Some or maybe all of those people will become mods. Could still be a fast track to being a mod. Going back on promises seems to be a theme here. I'm sorry for everything! The broken promises and the silence. I hope the wiki can better organize all this Transid terminology and make it easier for me and everyone else to learn.

I read the poll just now
If you haven't filled it out already I will take another look at the poll in another week. My main takeaways were that Being strict at first and then loosening up was popular. And Being strict with invites always was somewhat popular. I think loosening up restrictions slowly might cater to most people and be the best approach. Also, I was amazed at how many people wanted to write on the wiki 40% I thought it would be a smaller group. Also with the wiki being the feature, most people were interested in that is our top priority. And alpha will come first. This will be where only I can invite people. These people can add to the wiki and anyone can read the wiki without logging in. Also, a barebones version of the site will be available. Then will come the beta when it is ready. There was also an idea I had where people can choose to turn on ads. (They would be off by default). This was extremely popular. When memberships and the merch store come I will try and make this a possibility. To earn store credit by enabling ads. Please note ad revenue might be very low because advertisers might find content controversial. It might be hard to find anyone who wants to do ads. So this feature although popular is not guaranteed. Also for ads to be there, I will need to communicate something clearly. You get paid for having an ad there and behaving how you normally do. You WILL NOT get more store credit by clicking on ads. Irregular behavior like clicking on all the ads can get our site banned from displaying ads. Finally, all transid groups listed had 80%+ (pretty even spread) of others being positive towards each group. That is a start but a little worrying. I hope we all grow to understand each other better. And can stand together to fight for transid rights. Those are human rights after all. And I'm not going to stand for anyone being hurtful to other groups on this site.

long boring day
For the transid website. I am working on getting server backups and git for code collaboration. I am not amazing at Linux. So I spend over 8 hours with working on getting a good data backup system going. My eyes are bloodshot. My server host only offers weekly backups and they cost more per month. I think I can get backups every few hours with the method I use and it is cheaper. There were no exact tutorials for what I was trying to do. So it was a lot of trial and error. This isn't my first website, but it is the largest I've tried to make. I think we will get there, but there is plenty of learning going on. I don't think I'm going to blow anyone away with how fast the website launches. "The site will be launching (in a few months)" seemed pretty cautious. But could be true for beta. I decided to make a less complete version called an alpha too. I do not intend for that to take a few months. I started writing the survey. Maybe I will finish that tomorrow and that will be up in around 24 hrs.

welcome to tumblr! I'm basically the opposite lol haven't been on reddit in like 5 yrs? I love that though, transid solidarity between social medias. Really looking forward to the wiki, it's sorely needed tbh. I think transhumanism could absolutely be considered transid even if it isn't talked about too much yet. But there are a lot of different subcommunities that I think haven't yet had the chance to become fully fleshed out quite yet within the overall transid community. I think that'll change as the community grows though. Looking forward to the site and I'm keeping an eye out for that poll on site features!
Thanks for your comment. Good to know the poll is desired. I didn't see much interest in feature suggestions. The plan was to put community-suggested features on the poll but only one person has. Perhaps, people need to see the site working to know what they wish it had. I plan to do a poll soon in a few days to help prioritize the ideas for the site. But I'm in the middle of some boring but important stuff. I tend to go on tangents when I write. The boring stuff I did today and wrote here will be another post.

I am making a transid site with an associated wiki. I think the wiki is an important feature central wiki anyone can edit (but admins can restore easily) would be convenient. Tumblr new coined terms scroll by and can IMO be more difficult to find the one you are looking for. I've been testing someone else's software called Bookstack. It is simple to use, powerful, and modern. I had considered using the same software as Wikipedia, but it is dated and less intuitive for editors. I plan to have an alpha for people interested in building the wiki. I hope some coiners are interested. If someone has a lot of coining experience I think they would be a natural fit for being a wiki admin. No estimate on when the alpha will launch and alpha users will all be invited by me. If you are in the alpha expect some bugs and missing graphics. The priority is testing and getting the wiki started. It's lonely being the only one on a social media site, and hard to know how well it works. I'll start making a list of those who want early access to the site (alpha). It's not ready but I'll make a list. Please get in contact especially if you want to build a wiki.

loving the current design of the website so far! question (which may sound confusing as i am not tech savy) - is there any current consideration of using html and embeds to edit personal accounts (ie; mysp4ce and other old websites), or would it be more akin to modern social media website like tw1ttwr and mast0don?
ik ur pretty early in development, so this is less of a question regarding your plans, and more just what you currently have in mind ^^
It is going to be a more modern site. You can customize a banner image and profile picture. Also, you will be able to customize information like pronouns, identity, identified age etc. The plan is to for legal reasons have people sign up with two ages. If you are looking for the creative outlet that older sites provided, there will be a wiki to edit for transid. Plus you could post creative endeavors. I don't think it will be exactly like any existing site. There will be a feed of people's activity, you can follow them, pms and group chats, discussion forums, and a wiki. Anything you do on the site will make you level up with some kind of reward (in beta). There will also be a way to support the site by paying monthly with some rewards too. (don't worry ads will be off by default). It should be noted I'm mostly taking premade stuff and making them all more cohesive thematically, making it work together, and adding transid-specific stuff. That doesn't mean we aren't capable of building some stuff from scratch on top of the other peoples existing work. I don't think social media sites are typically built from scratch by two people especially not in a few months.

confession I'm fairly new to transid
I was on trace Reddit. I made a subreddit called transracialfeminsm. (Note there are plans to rebrand all trace subreddits to trace it just hasn't happened yet.) Word of transid/transx did not spread to us until 2 months ago. I was trying to promote intersectionality on the feminism subreddit and tried to make "alltrans" a thing. (similar to transid) I had no idea there was already something else. Let's not make alltrans a thing! Our branding is already confusing enough. I've browsed Tumblr some in the past few months, but this is my first account. I am committed to learning. But I just want you all to know I am far from knowing everything about transid at this moment. PS: I thought transhumanism might be something to add to the so not happening alltrans. Is transhumanism a part of transid right now? I haven't seen people talking about it yet.

What are your greatest desires...in a website?
I'm making a transid website. Don't let your dreams for the site be memes! Please tell me what you would hope for in a transid site. I'll do my best to be accommodating to the community, but please understand I can't add literally everything at once. I'll put all the suggestions I get into a poll plus things I am considering to see what the community values most soon. Note: features for launch need to be known in the next few days. I'm in talks to hire a talented and busy friend to help. She will soon be deciding how much she can fit into her schedule. The launch features need to be concrete by then.
