Question to anyone who cares to respond: does this still apply to words like "crazy" and "insane" et al? They aren't used to mean mentally ill anymore for the most part (at least according to my mom the last time we had this argument) but they have their roots there.Â
i canât stress enough how language is defined by its use
youâre not really misusing a word if youâre using it in its most popular definition because thereâs no way i could tell anyone that something is âterrificâ and have EVERYONE KNOW THAT I MEAN IT INSPIRES TERROR GOD YOUâRE ALL SOOOOO STUPID
clinging to archaic definitions and being a language purist in general is so dumb for real like 50% of our language now is butchered latin mixed with shakespearean chatspeak

There are no exceptions to mandatory consent. There is not an exception for familial relations. There is not an exception for platonic touch. Thereâs no exception for people who are intoxicated. You are not an exception for any reason. There is no reason for you to force touch on any other human being, ever, no matter what. Even if you think thereâs no harm in it, there is no reason to take the risk of making someone else uncomfortable or scared.

watchkeyphone replied to your post: Oh man we have a Group Project coming up in Econ +...
Whatâs a 504?
It's this thing - I don't know where you live, I'm in the United States - kind of like an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) but with less paperwork and it's less legally binding. This gives some information, though the site's about/for parents of "special needs" children so IDK how useful the rest of it is.Â
(Also hello your name is Jay and my name is also Jay, and we are only one letter apart on our MBTI??? you seem super awesome I don't think I was following you before but I am now)

danialexis answered your question: So, Iâve been thinking about careers. I have some...
You donât mention it, but I find my English major far more useful than my poli sci minor in advocacy. Learning to argue well is so useful.
Good point! I guess I hadn't really thought about that as much since I'm in "advanced" English classes right now, but yeah, English is generally just really useful. Would you be willing to talk to me about your experiences majoring in English - like, what kinds of classes, which did you enjoy the most/least and why, and where you went and why?Â

(This is from theroguefeminist's blog and I applaud them* for responding well and handling the resulting situation with appropriate reactions)
It's people like this who make me afraid to identify as autistic.
Because my technical diagnosis is "autism traits" and though I believe that's inaccurate, that I would've been diagnosed with autism or Asperger's if I was a cis male, I still can't escape the fact that they looked at me and the way I act and told me "you're not a real autistic, you're just neither autistic nor allistic, we condemn you to Autism Purgatory until further notice"
And it makes me afraid that I'm taking away from Actual Diagnosed Autistics, and that I just think I'm autistic because I'm desperately searching for an explanation as to why my brain doesn't work like everyone else's, but I keep being told I'm making it up and that my brain, my problems, are completely normal and I don't know who or what to trust anymore.Â
(I can't trust anyone I'm supposed to be able to trust, but I also can't trust my own brain because they make me doubt it - I'm "paranoid" say my parents and my therapist, and I don't know what is real about my brain anymore)
So tl;dr: people like this make me doubt my own brain and my knowledge of myself and it makes me uncomfortable
*their faq says they use she/her or they/them but it also says that that might change and I don't know if it has? so I'm really sorry if I'm misgendering you (I think you go by Iphis? I've seen you tag things with "iphis [something]" but if that's not right I'm sorry again) please let me know if I am and I'll update with correct pronouns
#props to you for handling that - and like everything else - really well#theroguefeminist#hush jay#angst for ts#tw: ableism

I'm lady gaga, a bear, a twink, and macklemore, I win the ~special snowflake~ award
(for real though when people say are you LGBT I'm just like 'yes' because my gender/sexuality is so complicated and if I end up transitioning fully to male people will probably think I'm straight so...)
"LGBT" is an acronym which, as we all know, stands for lady gaga, bears, and twinks
