i cannot keep quiet about this anymore.

if you're in the US or Canada and interested in learning a language using a free app please get a library card and download MANGO. it's very good and extremely free with a library card (there are many public libraries and universities using the service, so make an account and use the search feature here to find out if there's one near you).

mango currently has 72 available languages and dialects (that's right! different courses for french or canadian french! spanish or latam spanish!). it's set up basically like an audiobook with text. the idea is that the narrator explains the words while you read, and you repeat after them or say the translation out loud when prompted. there's a daily review where you go through flashcards. you can also use the flashcards at your leisure and create your own. at the end of each chapter there's a listening comprehension quiz and a reading comprehension quiz. i cannot emphasize how effective this all is. and it's free with a card.

if you're not in the US or Canada and/or looking for something more like duolingo (don't use duolingo btw tldr they fired translators and replaced them with "ai"), then try BUSUU! it only has 14 languages atm but the lessons are really descriptive and effective. it also has a feature where you can correct other people's open-ended speaking/typing exercises. you set your fluent languages, and exercises by people learning those languages will appear in your feed for you to correct. you can even add others as friends! and, much like duolingo, it has a streak and leaderboard system for you to strive for, minus the guilt-tripping owl.

busuu is free (you watch ads to unlock lessons and they're all skippable after like five seconds), although it also has paid premium/plus versions (i don't use the paid version—the language courses are available for free, and the ad system is Really unobtrusive).

Intersex trending?

• Friendly reminder bæddel, hermaphrodite, & futa are all slurs no matter the context.

• Intersex doesn't mean having a penis and vagina/cosexual/bigenital.

• When trans people go on about how "cis people get gender affirming care" "cis people get puberty blockers/hormones" etc, you are talking about intersex people. And most of the time we don't have the autonomy granted to us to choose. The same system oppresses us and forces us into the status quo. The only difference is for intersex people they are medically forced into one sex category, for the peritrans they are denied medical things to keep them in society's binaries. It's a lack of autonomy.

• IGM (intersex genital mutilation) is when doctors decide to genitally change intersex babies. These surgeries are only cosmetic, meaning the doctors do not care about how it functions, just the look.

• Every single anti trans law has made an exception for intersex people so they can continue oppressing us.

• Lying about being intersex doesn't make you safer. You as a trans dude lying about having gynemastica isn't making you safer. Intersex people are treated just as badly.

• Intersex people are still raped & mutilated by the medical system (yes even in '1st world' countries) and it's common practice.

• A species cannot be "all intersex", as being intersex refers to variations in ones sex.

• Whenever you see a "nonbinary" animal, it's usually just an intersex animal.

• Intersex people are not assigned "intersex" at birth, We usually still have AGABs, as AGAB was original used by doctors to refer to us. Additionally, an intersex person may be reassigned throughout life.

• SIG refers to socially imposed gender, for many intersex people they have an inconsistent socially imposed gender.

It's really great that so many people are abandoning the word hermaphrodite in zoology, but now we have a new problem. That being the misuse of the word intersex in its place.

Referring to cosexed animal species as intersex perpetuates the exact same misinformation that the H slur does.

What misinformation would that be? The idea that intersexuality is anything similar to the reproductive organization of cosexual species like snails and worms.

Intersex refers to a variation-from-typical in the sex traits of individuals. Examples include calico cats with male reproductive organs, humans with ovotestes, does with antlers, bilateral gynandromorphy, etc

Cosexual refers to a species that had dual reproductive function, such as snails, worms, leeches, etc

These are separate and unrelated things and it is ACTIVELY HARMFUL to conflate them. The H slur conflates them because it is a word originally used for intersex people being applied to cosexual animals. Directly calling cosexual animals intersex DOES THE SAME THING.

Are they seriously trying make it look like Sonny killed AJ to save Ava ? I highly doubt Sonny cared that Aj was trying to kill Ava he just wanted an excuse to kill him and thought he had one. Also I’m pretty AJ had moved away from Ava and was trying to explain when Sonny shot him.

As hilarious as the reactions to Drew doing body shots were (and the reactions really were funny, especially Joss, Lucas, and Marco's and then Lulu filming everything), I don't think this is going to end the way that Nina and Portia are hoping? As some on twitter pointed out, he's most likely going to be able to easily prove that he was drugged. Especially since he didn't exactly drink much alcohol before beginning to act this way.

So I just got caught up on the last three days of GH.

There's a lot to unpack:

Tracy making a deal with the Devil. (Drew.)

Professor Dalton seemingly being too interested in Anna. (And in Emma.)

Kai's surgery is in prep mode and the documentary is being done. (Which will totally not backfire on everyone involved. No sir. No ma'am.)

Body shots Drew. (And everyone's reactions.)

(as entertaining as it was, I feel like Portia and Nina should've come up with something a bit more... Believable. Then again, Nina seems to be doing a good job at sowing the whole "secret alcoholic" story.)

Gio is learning hard truths about Sonny. And the complicated relationship Sonny has with the Qs.

Sonny managed to survive. Total shocker. (Heavy sarcasm.)

I'm disappointed that Alexis wasn't the one who went to Kristina and explained why everything happened. Or that she didn't snap and say the reason why she was gonna commit Kristina. (Truths gonna come out sooner or later anyway... Probably at the Nurse's Ball when the Gio secret is gonna be blown.)

Willow... Technically, you're right, Drew isn't being Drew.... But honey, he really is that despicable. You've just been blind as fuck.
