It’s been five years.

1 year ago I had the worst day of my career.

I coded a friend and co-workers 18 month old little girl. She was gone, we all knew she was gone when we started. But we did everything in our power to change that, and to bring that sweet girl back to her parents. We weren't successful, and I will never be okay with that.

I've learned to accept defeat in this job. My mom had always told me "we can't save everyone," and for the most part, I've come to terms with that. But not her. I won't ever come to terms with losing her.

This is literally half my goal as a nurse: to be an ER nurse in a level 1 trauma center.
