Winter has arrived…

Its coldness, unsettling stillness, and relentless rains have taken over. Last night was harsh, as the heavy rain flooded our humble tents, leaving behind nothing but cold and suffering.

My children, their small bodies can no longer endure this piercing cold. All I can do is hold them close, but even that is no longer enough to shield them from the cruelty of this weather. Our tiny tent, barely offering us shelter, stands less than 100 meters away from the sea. The crashing waves and roaring winds create a daily battle for us, amplifying the fear in my children during the darkness of the night.

This morning, we woke up to the same exhausting reality. I don’t know if this suffering will ever end or if it will repeat with every new sunrise. Sometimes I wonder: does tomorrow hold any hope for us, or is it just another chapter of pain?

These are not just words, but glinnmpses of the reality of my life and the suffering of my children, for which I can find no solution.

📍Gaza ـــ a new suffering

Today I went just to get some food for my family.

I stood in a long line hoping to receive a small bag of flour to feed my hungry siblings

But what I found was humiliation

They asked for my ID they lifted my shirt they searched my body in front of everyone

They treated me like I was nothing like I had no dignity no rights no voice

And then the shouting started the pushing the warning shots in the air children crying people falling

All of this just because we wanted to eat 😔

I am not a criminal I am a brother trying to keep his family alive 🙏🏻

My father was killed by the occupation's missiles in front of my eyes while we were forcibly displaced under the fire belts from our home in northern Gaza. He was seriously injured. Due to the difficulty of the event, the inability of the medical teams, and the continued bombing for an hour, he bled a lot, which led to his death in front of our eyes. We could not accept the shock and the loss of my father, the pillar of the house.

We did not find anyone to console us. We cried in the displacement tents for many months, and we had no choice. We became without support ، We suffered for long months of siege, displacement, and hunger

I took on the responsibility of my family after losing my father, so we became their sole breadwinner.

We lost our home and were forced to live in a tent that barely protected us from the harsh weather, without access to food, water, or medicine! My elderly mother needs. treatment as she suffers from osteoporosis and bone fractures, and I am very worried about my educational future and my sister's! With university fees so expensive and everything in Gaza so expensive, it's almost impossible to buy the basic necessities we need, like blankets, bedding, and winter clothes! My name is Nidal, and I am writing this as a father desperate to protect his family.

Not long ago, we had a life in Gaza—modest, but full of love and hope. My wife and I worked tirelessly to give our children a future. My son, Musab, dreamed of becoming a computer engineer, spending hours coding with passion. My daughter, Huda, was excelling in school, while my youngest, Maryam, filled our home with her beautiful drawings.

But in an instant, everything changed.

When the bombs fell, we lost everything—our home, our peace, our dreams. We fled in the night, dodging debris, praying to make it to safety. Now, we live in a tiny, overcrowded space where explosions shake the walls, and my children flinch at every sound. Clean water is scarce, food prices are unbearable, and electricity is a luxury we can no longer count on.

The war has stolen so much from us.😭
