"Ah... right," Robyn's face remains polite, albeit pained, just a little, just at the corners of her eyes. Well, Winter did get half the point, in a wandering way. Her opinion of her peers made crystal clear explains a lot about the nicknames Robyn's heard of the woman, though.
"But I'd argue some people, and behaviors, are rather predictable."
People will always act out of stress, if they're not being provided with basic needs, for example. Hence her fight for Mantle.
"But that's why the hypotheticals are useless. Their situation is not mine, and I am not in their situation, so my actions might not match what they need to do," she pauses, deciding how pretentious she wants to be, in potentially re-phrasing. Well, why stop her mouth now? "...Plus they're usually talking about getting themselves into a pickle I'd be smart enough to avoid, so we're not working with the same skill set to start off with either, if you get me."
Also didn't help that even if Robyn tried to answer, people were also predictable in not listening to her advice or personal truths, and doing their own thing in the end anyway.
@trickshottruths: “I hate when people ask what I would do in their situation because nine times out of ten, I would literally never be in that situation in the first place.”
"Hypotheticals are pointless."
Was that the point Robyn was making? Winter isn't entirely certain, and yet, it seems as though she has decided that is the detail that she can hang onto. "Even if it was a situation you would end up, there's too many factors at play that one would never truly know. All of the specialist training was that sort of thing: how would you handle this, what would you do in this situtation? Grimm are predictable, but people? People... I don't understand them. You can never predict how another human being will behave. Even if you know what you would do... that doesn't mean any of it will play out how you expect."

"H-hey, Ms. Hill, can you help a girl out?" Poor Scarlet had found Robyn after looking for so long, she was in a damaged party dress with high heels in one hand, needless to say, she was cold, "My name is Scarlet, Scarlet Williams, do you have any spare clothes I can change into? It's a long story."

"Ah..." Robyn has to take a moment to take in the scene. Her heart leaps into her chest, goes out to the woman on instinct, but there's so clearly a sob story attached to this picture, it simultaneously makes her a little suspicious. She had more enemies than she'd like to admit these days.
And approaching someone so directly in public in such a state felt, just, odd. The hideout wasn't far, but she wasn't about to take a stranger directly there.
"Not with me, Scarlet," She pulls out her scroll, giving the woman her trust, her hope in humanity for now, "but let me call a friend and have them bring something. Stay right here where it's safe for now, and I'm sure we can find a blanket or something in the meantime. And you can tell me what happened," while holding her hand.

"Well..." Robyn starts, a fondness crossing over her face, "It was my understanding that each of you chose to leave a different life - different soul, if you'd rather say - behind, when you chose to join up with me and form this team instead. ...So I had those commissioned for you, along with our pins. Something that covered each of our strengths, all in one weapon, as a uniform, unified front. With my crossbow focusing most on projectiles and pointing the way to," she laughs a little at her own cheesiness, "...fly forward."
There's pride in the way her hip pops, her shoulders square, "We agreed to be connected to each other, to fight the same fight. So ...I wanted to represent my huntresses as... different parts, working together as one. We have all become part of each other."
Her brows raise in sympathy, "You're welcome to trade it in for your old weapon, or something that better suits you at any point, though."
How's that for a speech?

"If our weapons are supposed to be an extension of our souls, and each one tailored to the individual using it, how come three out of the four of us use the same weapon at this point?"
It's a bloody simple question, and yet May had never once thought about it. Yet during one of those late-night fridge trips the question had dawned on her...and it had kept her up a considerable portion of the night.

It's not often Robyn sees May confused about something rather than just tackling right into it and figuring it out as she goes. This must be important. She sets down the map she's been studying and her head and ponytail tilt, "...alright, shoot."
@trickshottruths

"So, Robyn...I've got a question that's been eating at me for a bit, and I want to hear your thoughts on this. It's nothing bad, it's just a weird inconsistency I've noticed and I don't really know what to make of it."

"I am perfectly professional!" She says, leaning back in her chair with her arms raised over her head, legs kicked up on a chair in front of her own with ankles crossed.
"But I will trust you to knock me over the head before I do something that would make her do it."
Actually now that she does remember that dinner, she remembers Winter slamming the table too. Hmm. Maybe there would be fight and fire in the same small radius. Should be interesting.
That's bullshit, and May can tell it's bullshit. But she's going to let that bullshit slide because she has a feeling she's going to need to save that energy for later. Particularly if she needs to break up a brawl between Robyn and Winter.
Another series of beeps as she gets a few more texts in, and she seems relieved — but only a little. She sends off the location along with her response.
"Well, that's progress. Just...whatever you have in mind, try not to make things worse around camp than they already are, okay? Whatever is going on between you two, we need to have a working relationship."
Yup. When the train left the station, May wasn't even there.

Communication is a good start. So are scrolls still working.
"I'm... pretty sure that's just how she is. Though I can't say I'd be surprised at a former op being less than pleased about me keeping my own secrets. Can't think of anything else specific..."
Maybe throwing a fit at the lady's house. But out of everything that happened that night, it's not something that immediately came to mind...

Robyn trusts her huntresses. Doesn't go digging into their business. Getting involved in it, however?
"Yep. Sure do."
Yes. Owes her. For Robyn's opportunity.
...Then she hears the beginning of the conversation. Oh, May. Don't shoot the shot right into your own foot please. And don't make Robyn lie.

"Feisty today, May!" using Robyn's own off-hand words against her.
And that's more like it. She must be feeling a little better.
Truth be told, Robyn's barely rubbed elbows with Winter. No history there. She doesn't even have Winter's number. She's not about to stand in one of her women's way. No, it's more in Robyn's nature to build opportunities.
Violet eyes hold no vitriol at all, "Take the shot."

Goddamn it, she should've seen that coming. She's not about to act like a coward in front of her boss, though. She's the Lion, after all!
"Shall I invite her, then?" she asks, taking out her scroll and thumbing through her contacts. "Maybe you could discuss making her part of the family."

"I'll add it to the supply list," Robyn chuckles as she pats the seat next to her.
It's a trap.
"Nonexistent, huh? Wonder if Winter's still lookin' for that hideout invitation now that she's..." what's the least hurtful way to phrase this after everything that's happened... "an independent woman."
"Well... this one's not like it used to be. More of a headquarters, really."
