The Return

Once more, a letter would arrive in a rather strange way to Quinn. Sliding in under the door but not a soul would be seen bringing the enveloped message. Upon unveiling from the envelope prison, Quinn would find the words written to her by her newest friend, Triststain. Following onto such, the letter would read as: Dear Quinn, As fast as those undead came, they seem to have vanished. I didn’t even seem to find the end of their trail. I swear there was hordes of them and then i wake and there is none at all. Perhaps the new lich or whatever got control of them again? I haven’t seen any of the Ebon knights, so trying to get answers has been defincult. For now, they have paid for my services and have sent me back home. I’m just packing everything up now. I should be home soon, or likely by the time you get this. I will warn, i did have a close call, but i promise it’s nothing bad. I just broke my arm is all, it’ll be in a sling for some time.  I’ll be the one armed parent. Think i can handle twins with one hand. Well, mostly just Tay. I missed them. Sorry, going on about them already. I missed you too and i hope to see you soon. Winter’s veil is on it’s way soon, isn’t it? Think you can help me look for presents for the kids? Well mostly i’m using that as an excuse to see you, i’d like to get something too so you’ll need to help me with that too.  For now, i hope you are still safe and i look forward to seeing you again. An envelope would slip in under the door of Quinn’s safe house. No lingering presence and no sounds were made that someone had made it onto the porch or even near the site and yet, here was this enclosed letter for the maiden in hiding.

A letter to a dear one

Dear Quinn, I hope this letter finds you well. I know times are looking rather blek bleec gray and honistly it’s not looking all that great out here, i’ve had a cuple close calls already. Think i’m still a bit rusty. But you know, threw it all, i know we can make it threw it. The sun always rises right? The seesons always change. They always around and i hope i can always be around with you. I don’t want to think our short time together was just that. Maybe i’m scared, maybe i’m being greedy, but i like you and i like our time together. I don’t think this is all very fair.  I hope you have some where to go that’s safe, i don’t know if the city is going to be safe. Please get somewhere safe. I’ll have someone come check on you. So if you see them then they will help you. Also, if anything happens to me, don’t worry about the kids. Okay? I got that sorted. Just make sure to be safe. If you get lost, don’t worry i’ll come find you again. It’s funny. Letters. I mean, i’m writing letters on a page and that makes this a letter, so is this hole page just one big letter? Did that make you smile? I hope it did, maybe it wasn’t very good. Sorry. I really like your smile.  I’m heading out again, so it may be some time till i can nect  nex write. Be safe and take care. Harsh Reality

Stormwind is eerie. There are few people on the streets, either evacuated if they can afford it, or hiding within their homes. The alleys of Old Town certainly aren’t nearly as bustling with illicit deals and shady folks. Even they’ve found places to go.

Quinn walks through the empty streets, ducking into nooks when a guard patrol passes to avoid being questioned, making her way to the little alley by the canal off to the side of the Pig and Whistle. The place she’s meant to meet with Kat Hawke to follow up on the report she’d written.

Kat stands there, waiting for her arrival. The dark haired woman’s eyes are on the report itself, and her appearance gives every impression that she hasn’t slept in days. “How lon’ was this stock boy makin’ deliveries?”

Exhausted as Kat looks, Quinn realizes it’s best to stay directly on task. “The new one? Four days now, and just to us. I looked into it.”

“Up until he died at least,” Kat replies with a low hum as she tucks away the page. “That’s enough time t’get a decent amount of poisoned food and drink into the quarter.” 

Quinn’s nose wrinkles up, a moment of self irritation as she realizes her mistake in the report. It lacked clarification. “The old stock boy’s the one that’s dead. He was out sick, it’s why we had this replacement at all. So he’d have been affected at least four days ago, if not longer.” 

Kat flattens her lips. “In th’ future, please specify who exactly. Writin’ stock boy is rather vauge if two are in mention.” Admonishment done, the conversation pushes on. “Have th’ other staff complained of illness?”

“None of the rest of the staff is sick though, far as I know. Though none of us eat what we serve, we know better, and yes ma’am. I’m tryin’ to improve this writin’ thing all the time. I’ll do better in future.”

“Wot of those who handle th’ food?” Kat pushes ahead, giving know acknowledgement of Quinn’s intentions. The world their jobs live in is ‘do better, or be dead’.

Quinn picks at the leather of one dagger as she replies, “So far none of our kitchen crew seem to be sick. They should be right?” She finds herself asking for some reassurance. Maybe that could mean good things maybe? “They aren’t though.”

No reassurance is forthcoming. Kat’s attention has already flicked to the side of the Pig and Whistle. “Anyone around at th’ moment?” Quinn’s gaze follows hers.

“No ma'am. Most folks have been evacuated, not enough customers to be worth keepin’ staff in this time of day. There will be this evenin’.”

The director motions towards the tavern. “Show me where ya’ found the tainted supplies then.”

The Howling Owl is hiring!

The Howling Owl is a faction neutral RP event driven guild. We host monthly RP events open to both the Horde and Alliance RP communities. We also have guilds on both Horde and Alliance side of Wyrmrest Accord server.

The Howling Owl is the name of Azeroth’s premier faction neutral coffee shop and cocktail bar. We use The Golden Rose tavern in Mistfall Village, Vale of Eternal Blossoms as a backdrop. ICly the coffee shop/cocktail bar is located in neutral territory in Pandaria. Lodging and other buildings are also located on the premises and available for staff to use for free.

We host several types of events, monthly:

Poetry & Story Night:

Hosted by Alaris Sunspell. This is a lowkey, quiet event where patrons can enjoy coffee, cocktails, baked goods and other light food while listening to poetry, stories and sometimes even music performed by patrons or staff.

Club Night Owl:

A dance club is located upstairs. It’s owned and hosted by Saeil Moonblade. Come to enjoy a lively atmosphere, the finest drinks and best DJs Azeroth has to offer!

Thirsty Thursday:

A monthly bar social event utilizing the downstairs and upstairs, sometimes featuring performances. Drinks, bar food, music and bartenders/servers create a fun, lively atmosphere! Hookah Lounge Night: A hookah lounge event, between ourselves and Tattered Wings Hookah (run by one of the guild’s officers). Hookah, great drinks, bar food, music and staff create an immersive and fun experience!

We also host various seasonal and special occasion events throughout the year, such as festivals and parties that sometimes even include opportunities to perform! There are also other opportunities throughout the month when we participate in outside events by running a booth, coffee cart or by catering an event!

Currently, we are recruiting to our guild (Horde or Alliance) for the following positions:

-Bartenders/baristas/servers -Security

We are LGBT+ friendly and do have a requirement of being 18+ to join!

Save the Date: Hallow’s End Festival!

Come join us for our 1st Annual Hallow’s End Festival! 

Hallow’s End themed vendors, performances, raffles and the night will be finished off with a dance party!

As always with The Howling Owl’s events, Horde or Alliance are welcome!

Where: Caer Darrow, Western Plaguelands

What we’re looking for: Currently, we’re gathering vendors! Any type of goods or services are welcome but we’d like if vendors put a Hallow’s End theme to whatever it is they are selling!  Anything from tailors and candle makers to tarot card readers and games!
