FAST AND LOVESICK

Street racer!Lando norris x fem!reader x Street racer!Franco Colapinto

summary: Lando and Franco have been rivals in the races since the beginning, but now they are rivals outside of them as well.

Street racer au, infidelity, f word, rivalry, probably not perfect english (not my first language, I tried), debut ff I promise I’ll improve. Probably a lot of things don’t make sense lol. When I started writting this it felt like a Franco x Lando enemys to lovers.

Night times where Franco’s favourites. The adrenalin he gets while driving in an illegal speed in a illegaly modified car couldn’t match anything else in his life. His beloved car was the fastest in Monaco. For obvious reasons, the races where held outside the city so everyone taking part on those illegal acctions had less chances of getting arrested. However, Franco didn’t care at all, his rivalry with Lando blinded him.

Franco Colapinto, was not only known for his talent and his countless victories. He was also known for not giving a fuck when it came to authorities and for not knowing when to shut the fuck up. And that lead him to being in a lot of trouble, that after some calls he gets away with.

Today’s track was new. No one has ever driven in that track before, so for Franco it felt right for him to be the first one to compete in that circuit. As always, where Franco goes Lando follows. Lando was the winner, the popular, the unbeateable, but then Colapinto appeared. His charisma and his fearless driving skills, even if he wasn’t the winner most of the time, made him won a significant popularity. That tortured Lando so when his modified Aston Martin Vantage V12 was parked nex to the argentinian’s car Franco just smirked, already expecting Lando as his rival for that race.

“Long time no see, Norris.” The bittersweet taste of sarcasm in Franco’s words only made Lando’s anger grow bigger. The english boy got out of his car with an unusual agressivity he has not show before, and the race wasn’t starting for a couple of hours more.

“I see that you are extra confident today Colapinto, and you haven’t win a single race since February, and it’s nearly July.” Lando got closer to his rival, each of the words in his sentence came out with more anger than the one before.

“Looks like you are in a bad mood mate, problems in paradise?” Franco was confident for today’s race but he didn’t even care if he won, he knows that even if he ends second people will still choose him over Lando. That was Lando’s weak point, that all of his so called fans where starting to cheer for Franco. Everything Lando used to have was starting to be Franco’s property.

Carlos, Lando’s best friend and his car’s mechanic, got closer to his friend and grabed his arm while saying “This is useless mate, concentrate” and left with him to the Aston Martin.

Alex greeted Franco with a head nod. “Drive safely Fran, this track is dangerous.” Alex and Franco started competing against each other but after an accident Alex stopped racing. Franco only nodded to Alex’s words.

The usual blond girl with her characteristic denim shorts and the two flags stopped in between the two cars, lifted the flags and winked at Franco. Befor getting inside his car he answered with a smirk. The girl named the rules as she alwas did before all of the races. Lando and Franco where already starting their engines.

Franco’s Nissan GT-R R34 sounded louder tan Lando’s car but he could still listen to his rival’s yell. “Hey Franco, whoever wins gets the girl.” And without saying her name Franco already knew who was Lando talking about.

The blond girl waved the two flags down. The race started and the two cars, parallel to each other, started running up the hill.

Lando’s Aston Marting gained distance from Franco’s Nissan but he didn’t stay back. The first corners Lando was ahead but Franco came lika rocket, risking everything to overtake Lando. His playfull and confident mood made a dramatic change to a serious and dangerous temper.

Lando knew what he was doing. Charles’ showed the track to Lando way before the race day so he did some laps to practice. He had the track memorized from start to finish, and he knew how his car worked in that circumstances. He was prepared. Franco wasn’t. However, Franco was known for his mental agility and his inprovisation skills. That track was perfect for him, and Lando knew it.

Franco knew it was dangerous, even Alex told him before getting inside the car, but he decided to turn off the car’s lights making him invisible for Lando. That strategy helped him overtake Lando and once he was safe and in front of him he turned on the lights again. Lando was surprised, he knew Franco was willing to risk his life in order to win, but he didn’t expect him to use that strategy in a forest at midnight. Both of them could have died.

The circuit was ending, and at the same time Lando’s chance to win was ending too. When both of them where in the final corner some blue and red lights surprised them both, making them stop their engines abruptly and stopping their cars in front of the polices’ ones.

“Neither of you will have their car back” Lando just stared at the police officer with an anoyed expression while Franco, who was seated next to Lando in the cell, was mentally insulting himself. Lando did not have any problem with not getting the Aston Martin back, he had enough money to buy five cars and modify the five of them, he probably had already more modifyed cars at his house. On the other hand, Franco only had his Nissan, and he defenitely did not have enough money to buy another car and modify it. He didn’t even had the money to bail himself out, but he knew someone who could help him with that, the question was: Whould she do it?

“You are awfuly quiet today Colapinto” The officer, who Franco has encounter many times before, teased him. He only answered with a sarcastic smiles that lasted half a second, then he went back to his serious and anoyed face.

“I want to call someone” Lando stood up. The officer nodded and opened the cell, onec Lando was out he closed to door again and guide him to the telephone.

Ten minutes after Lando was back with a smile on his fase, he was getting out of there. “Your turn” The officer talked to Franco, he just denied with his head. “I can’t call anyone” He answered. And it was true. He could only call one person, but Lando already anticipate him and called her first. He knew it.

The officer left and the two boys where left alone again. “I won” Franco said while looking to the floor. Lando looked at him, anoyed. “No, you didn’t. We didn’t finish the race.” Lando was right. However, before the police appeared Franco was ahead so, in his mind, he did won, but Lando won’t accept it.

Fifteen minutes after Y/n appeared. She left two envelopes in the officer’s desk and got closer to the cell. Once Lando saw her he got up and got closer to his girlfriend. “Hey love, I’m sorry, I promisse it won’t happen again.” Her annoyed expression didn’t change, she just waited until Lando was out of the cell, thanked the officer and left the place with Lando grabing her waist while telling her his ways he will make it up to her.

Franco just stayed there looking at the wall, wishing the time went quicker. Not even five minutes after, the officer came back and opened the door. “Looks like you’re out too”.

When y/n entered the police station she left two envelopes, one with Lando’s name to bail him out, and another one with Franco’s name, to bail him out too. But Lando just asked for himself when he called her. She payed for Franco, like she did multiple times before, because she wanted and without Lando noticing.

The morning after, y/n was cleaning the kitchen after the breakfast when Lando entered the room. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck softly. “Love, c’mon talk to me” Lando had a soft spot for her, but she was pissed. She warned him that the track he was going to was dangerous and besides, it was a relly easy place for the police to find out and arrest them, which did happened. She warned him and he still went, because he can’t lose a race against Franco Colapinto. He can’t lose her against him.

“I told you not to go, that it was dangerous, that if you didn’t end up in an accident you will end up in the cell of the police station, and you still went. Tell me Lando, what happened at the end?” He hated it when she used that tone with him, he knew she was right and he felt awful and dumb, that was the kind of power she held on him.

“Franco Colapinto also ended up being there” His tone changed to a serious one in that sentence.

“I don’t care what happens with him, you are my boyfriend, not him” She answered with a challenging look in her eyes.

“You don’t care but you bail him out every time, like you did yesterday, for example” He was fed up with all the times his girlfriend had helped his rival. Besides, he alwo knew what was going on between them both.

“He doesn’t have the money, I feel bad for him”

“What a horrible excuse. And love, I’ve heard you saying more convincing lies.” With that said Lando left the house. Y/n just stayed there without knowing what to do.

“He found out.” Y/n’s body was above Franco’s. She had her head on his chest and his hand was on her hair. Even in stressful situations he brings calmness to her, something strange when it comes to Lando. He was pure stress and noise, even tough he had his sweet and loving moments. It was ironic that the quiet and calm one was Franco, who was known for his neverending conversations and his energy.

“I know” His answer was quick, straightforward, took y/n by surprise. “Before the race he said that the winner would win you” The air came out of Y/n’s lips as a sigh. She knew how Lando was, but she would never expect something like that.

“And who won?” Even though the idea of being a price between the two drivers wasn’t her favourite she still was curious about the result.

“The police appeared before we could finish the lap, but befor that I was ahead of Lando.” She just let out a small sound, like she understood. Franco just stayed there, looking at the ceiling. “Why don’t you just break up with him? He’s bad for you.” Y/n looked at Franco.

“I can’t” It was true, she couldn’t. But he didn’t understand why. She was here with him, she could have him entirely. He was ready to give her his whole heart but she was still choosing Lando over him. “I still love him.”

“You clearly don’t” That quick and short sentence came out more agressive that he intended to. “You can’t love him when you are here with me instead of being with him right now. You keep choosing me all the times, except when you are with me and I ask you to, then you choose Lando.”

“Fran…” She cups his fase with both of her hands and he, unconsciously, leans into her touch. “I’m sorry.”

And she truly was. She was in love with both of them but she didn’t know if that was true at all. How can someone be in love with two people at the same time? Y/n knew she couldnt choose both of them. She knew that Franco would give her his entire world and that Lando, even after everything she has done, would do anything for her.

Franco and Lando's rivalry went beyond cars and Racing, they where competing to get the girl too. It looked like Lando was wining but he wasn’t sure at all anymore, and Franco wasn’t going to give up that easily either.
