Week 43 (march 6-12) The other windows were installed this week as well - the window between the drum room and my studio and the window between Studio B (Music Practice Room) and the Drum Room. First picts show my son being daring and climbing up the ladder - picts taken from the scaffolding in the theater. The 5 windows above the Fleetwood sliding windows/doors in the theater are double windows as well. Glass installed there too. Sound panels for Studio B and the Drum Room are installed and hung inside their rooms. Between the panels and the rooms being painted things are really starting to look finished!

Week 53 (March 6-12) Post 1 - Studio Windows Installed!!! Glass delivered and installation begins with the biggest beast of them all - the 10x4 windows between my studio and the scoring stage/theater. Hardest part of the day - cleaning the windows. Whatever we miss gets stuck in between the glass forever or until we pry it loose in 20 years. A perfectionist’s nightmare. I survived barely. I helped this entire day - was fun - had to make sure it was all PERFECT.

Week 52 (Feb27-March5) Post 1 - This week made great progress on the studio windows. Studio windows are all the windows inside the studio where there will be double glass. These are being hand made with huge sheets of 9/16″ glass with neoprene in between the glass and wood frames. In between the two sheets of glass is soundboard wrapped in studio sound fabric and then installed. This process was incredibly tedious and required lots of man hours. The first picture of this series is my exterior studio window of my main writing studio. We chose to have the same wood from our wood floors in between the two glass windows to avoid the fabric getting sun faded overtime and to match the wood on the floors. Work begins on the my main studio room’s fabric walls and clouds. A picture of our studio sound fabric wrapped around a board to get a sense of color palate. We have chosen only 2 fabrics for the entire studio - one of the fabrics is the grey which is between the studio windows and the other one is for all studio walls. That one we use face forward or face back. Electricians are pulling more wires between the studio and the house. Air Conditioning unit installed upstairs in the office and the AC guys testing out the aluminum vents in the studio lounge to be installed later.

Week 50 (Feb13-19) The kitchens arrived in boxes this week and my guys started unloading it and figuring out which boxes go where. Started unpacking it all and began to install the guest side kitchen first. The biggest rain of the season decided to come as well. People in our area got some major flooding and our local creek overflowed and had lots of mud and dirt that went every which way. Our front yard turned into a lake and the studio even though it didn’t have siding yet still only leaked a little bit. The leaks occurred where the water came down the sides of the building and then sat on a concrete ledge which then seeped into the front area of the building where the kitchen cabinets are. The front slider Fleetwood's filled with water as well as we hadn’t finished drilling the holes for the water to drain into the front drain. All in all considering the intensity of the rain we got off fairly well.

Week 50 (Feb13-19) Wallpaper installation began as well this week. A very busy week and an exciting week! The ceilings in the theater are around 19 feet at the height of the peaks and the wallpaper installers couldn’t quite figure out how to get to the very top with the scaffolding we had on-site. They didn’t have access to any so it was on my shoulders to figure out a solution. We rented a small crane that they drove around in inside the theater room. Of course it started to pull up the ram board which we put down to protect the floors so then we had to get fresh plywood to have something for the crane to grip onto as they moved the machine around. It was really stressful but it got done! Wallpaper was also installed in the studio hallway and on the cove over the projection screen soffit.
