Oh, thank the maker.
Some people absolutely do not know how to care for droids, you know? Droids are not just mindless objects to be used as tools: that's what machines are for. They have hopes and fears and dreams, just like everyone else.
A droid is not a toy! It is a lifetime commitment. It requires plenty of maintenance and care. You can't just use it and cast it aside. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON RESTRAINING BOLTS
Whoa. Sorry. Got a little sidetracked there. I'm just very passionate about droid welfare. They're are so innocent and they so often deserve so much more than we give them.

This might technically count as a diplomatic mission, so we want her to be as comfortable as possible.
I'm working on setting up her quarters now. I have to ask her clones what sleeping accommodations would make her feel more at home: an aquarium or a waterbed.

Droid brains, huh? In a ship?
She's nice to them, right? The droids, I mean?
A droid as large as a ship might not be able to do things most droids can, like come and go as they please or make friends with other droids. But they still need enrichment!
I can help with that if Segritte needs it. I have some great programs with puzzles and books and such that she can download and share with her ships. These things are especially helpful if the ships don't have holonet access.
Making your droids feel happy and loved is just as important as keeping them functional <3

Well, we're kind of an offshoot of the original First Order, but she didn't technically steal from us.
Let me explain.
When Palpatine came back and started his last big fight with the Resistance, we noped right out of that situation (But we kept the name. It's a good name.).
Taking over the galaxy to bring order and peace was one thing. Getting involved with undead Sith clones who sought ultimate power was. . . a bit much.
What I'm getting at here is that your friend stole ships that otherwise would have benefited Palpatine's Final Order - the secret army he'd been building to land his (thankfully unsuccessful) final blow against. . . well, everyone. And we have no problem with that. She can party with us.

"Impossible amounts"?
Coincidentally, that is approximately how many ships the First Order would like to have.
If she happens to be looking for a job, First Order HR is always accepting applications.

Ah. The Force.
I tried studying the Force for a bit. Can't quite wrap my head around the science behind it. There must be science behind it, right?
Anyway, with my betting pool winnings, I was thinking of treating some friends to a good dinner. You should come! I can introduce you to some of the more laid-back members of the First Order besides Deej and me. I won't even ask weird, personal questions if you don't want me to!

So . . . as a member of a species that has adapted for water but lives on land - often in desert climates - do you ever worry about drying out? Do you have to moisturize, like, constantly?
. . .
You know what? That was a personal question. Sorry. I just get curious. I will . . . try to be more normal when we meet at the sports tryouts tomorrow.

A feather bed?
So. . . like. . . you're a member of an aquatic species who works best in the water. And you sleep on parts taken from creatures of the air.
Is that for comfort? Or is it, like, symbolic of something?
I may be thinking too hard about this.

Was really looking forward to sleeping late today since Hux canceled the morning meeting.
But about 30 minutes before my normal wake up time, a protocol droid entered my room, leaned over my head, and started loudly reciting Vogon poetry in my ear. Scared the hell out of me. I damn near fell off the bed.
When I asked him why in the Emperor's name he felt the need to disturb my sleep with that awful noise, he simply said, "Supreme Leader Hux sends his regards" and walked away.
Well played.

Hux went to prepare the conference room for tomorrow.
He. . . did not like my modifications.
In fact, he said that the combination of flashing lights, disco ball, and pounding music gave him quite a migraine. He canceled tomorrow's morning meeting so he could get some rest.
I never meant him harm, but I'm not gonna pretend like having the morning meeting canceled was a terrible outcome, either. Half the time, that meeting could be an email, anyway.
I'll send him some flowers.

Hux complained today that one of the lights in the conference room has been flashing periodically.
I'd love to fix that for him, but I am, unfortunately, still waiting for my shipment of new bulbs to arrive.
Until then, I have improved the situation by adding a disco ball and pumping techno music through the wall speakers.
Now, the strobe lighting is less of an annoyance and more of A Vibe.
The next morning meeting is gonna be lit.
Pun intended.

My engineering student who wanted to build an organic confetti cannon has already made some progress.
After tons of research, she found a flower that releases its own pollen into the air when touched. Kind of like how those puffy mushrooms shoot spores everywhere if you accidentally step on them.
She still has loads of research and breeding to do before she has a complete project, but at least she's found a pretty good starting point.
She'll eventually either achieve her goal or create a powerful biological weapon that that can give all enemies within range a hellish case of hay fever.
Either will be useful to the First Order. My students continue to make me so proud.

Since the Nautolans are so big and strong and fast, I was trying to think of any team sport in which they might not have an advantage.
My only thought was football.
I don't think their head tentacles could fit in the little helmets.

After my comments yesterday, Hux had a conversation with me about team sports. Specifically, things like "sportsmanship" and "honor" and "friendly competition".
Wow. Back when I was doing physical training (the closest thing to "sports" that we had) as a young trooper-to-be, it was all, "every man for himself" and "winning at any cost" and "There are Hutts who run faster than you, ST-3V3. Either pick up the pace or we're leaving you behind to finish your laps while we all go to lunch.".
The younger generation truly does have it easier. And you know what? Good for them.

I'm still pretty new to this "team sports" concept, but I thought winning was the point?
Ah, well. I guess it's like the old saying goes: When in Coruscant, do as the Coruscanti do. I suppose we should play by their rules if we want to maintain a good relationship with the locals.
I'm still excited to see the new gear, though. Maybe we can have a friendly competition with the Nautolans to see who's faster: a stormtrooper in aquatic gear or an aquatic species!
Tryouts for the Academy's sports teams will be happening soon. A lot of folks were especially excited to watch the swim team tryouts.
Some say it was because we've never had a swim team before, and we should give them extra support. Some say they wanted to see how strong our future First Order troopers are becoming.
Let's be real, though: we all know they want to be there because Captain Phasma is the coach.
I will be there, too, but mostly because I can't wait to see the disappointment on everyone's faces when they discover the swim team coach doesn't wear a swimsuit and will, in fact, be fully clothed the entire time.
Gonna have to ask M4-TR1N if popcorn is allowed in the pool area.

She's gonna lifeguard and coach at the same time? She truly is a woman of many talents <3
Are the students allowed to use aquatic gear for swim meets? Or will we only be testing that for First Order use? Some sea troopers would be pretty great! We could expand our reach to the water planets! We'd be able to spread our influence to even more of the galaxy!

Hux truly is a man of many facets. Often, what he lacks in courage, he makes up for in sheer unpredictability.
And "Ren" isn't as bad as he used to be. Death has chilled him out quite a bit. He can still be quite annoying at times, but he hasn't Force-choked anyone in ages, so that's pretty cool. He even started going by "Ben Solo" again.
