It is almost as if the world is telling us a morbid joke: we will kill you if you resist and kill you if you hide, and if you refuse, and if you concede, and we will devour your land and gulp your oceans and kill you with hunger and thirst.
The massacres will be televised, broadcast in broad daylight. Our judges will legalize them. Our politicians, inert, inept, or complicit, will fund them then feign sympathy, if any. Our academics will stand idle—that is, until the dust settles, then they will write books about what should have been. Their rotten institutions will commemorate us after our death.
And the vultures, even from our midst, will tour museums glorifying, romanticizing what they once condemned, what they did not deign to defend—our resistance—mystifying it, depoliticizing it, commercializing it. The vultures will make sculptures out of our flesh. A morbid joke, but I am not amused.

I don’t think at any other point in my life has it been more nakedly obvious the United States government functions first as an arms dealer and global police force for imperialism and an actual country with a government as a distant second. There’s is practically no pretense right now that it functions as anything else and the ruling class has no interest in even pretending otherwise. No education, no housing, no transportation, no new infrastructure, no healthcare, no welfare, no social safety net, no legal guarantees for bodily autonomy and basic human rights. Just an endless stream of weapons and money for war and military occupation (including the domestic military occupation through the “police). Nothing else matters, and they don’t care that we know it anymore.

do you have any tips for learning how to draw fish? i find the shape & proportions a bit hard to get down and i wonder if you had any insights
love your art btw!!!! <33
hmm. they’re longer than you think and their heads are smaller than you think! but a real answer is that observational drawing techniques such as sighting is always the key to proportion!!
actually i have a cheat sheet my professor printed for me
this is how you draw Everything so kind of a catch all answer! another suggestion is blind contour drawing, i think fish would make really great subjects for that. you’ll come out with some very stupid looking fish (always good!)
