Bucky’s been doing his best to adjust to civilian life in the future. He’s spent most of his last few years in and out of cryo-freeze, either for HYDRA or his short stint in Wakanda. Now he’s on his own and is trying to come up with a daily routine.

So far he starts with a run at 6am, then comes back at 8am and makes breakfast. He checks his phone at 8:30 and then cleans up the kitchen. Finally at 9 he watches the news trying to catch up on current events.

“This just in…” Bucky hears as he tunes into Fox News. “3 more teenagers found dead due to overdose. That makes 15 over the last few days. More on this developing story at 10”

The glass in Bucky’s hand shatters from his grip on it. He looks down and sighs. He grabs a broom and starts sweeping it up.

15 kids dead in Brooklyn. In his city. He’s no hero but he has to find a way to stop this. He can’t let someone tear apart the one place he still considers home, no matter how much it’s changed over the years.

Bucky finishes cleaning the glass from the floor and grabs the keys to his motorcycle. He puts on his jacket and drives to the site of the latest overdose. Bucky sneaks past the police guarding the scene, ducking under the yellow tape. He enters the warehouse and sees the chalk outlines of the bodies. He looks around more and finds fresh bullet holes and bullet casings all around the warehouse. “Someone wasn’t happy” he mumbles.

Bucky turns the corner and stops, seeing someone in front of him. “Who the hell are you?” He asks the silhouette in front of him.
