ANCIENT ROMAN NECESSITIES. PART 3: LENGTHY WRAPS, JUST LIKE ON THOSE STATUES

WARNING: CLIPPING ISSUES. these are ACCESSORIES, so they don't have morphs and are prone to clipping through the body mesh. 1) I made them to fit the fat+pregnant morphs specifically. they might look too spacious on thinner frame in the front. 2) I have tried to reduce clipping to minimal amounts, so the issues aren't that annoying. I made these for myself, and just to be clear - I don't think they're really worth publishing. I can't promise I'll go fixing the clipping issues later, because at this point, they are a trade-off (I make one thing better and ruin the other). sitting, standing, walking, flailing arms a little bit should look fine, but download at your own risk!

toga for tm-em. we don't have a lot of variety here. ~1200 polys.

plain white is supposed to be toga virilis, white with purple borders - toga praetexta, purple with golden borders and pattern - toga picta (my best attempt at it, anyway), and dark one - toga pulla. toga praetexta is not available for teens: too old to be a child in need of protection, too young to be a senator.

palla for tf-ef. it's rectangular and not quite as long. more variety here. 961 polys.

pallium for men, in cases toga is too formal or just doesn't fit the status. a little bit different from palla, both in terms of mesh and swatches. not perfectly happy with this one, but if you don't look closely enough, it'll do. 796 polys.

your local Roman attire assembly line is back with new goods.

1. a tunic with sandals. tm-em, different swatches (20 simple, 34 fancy). fancy ones have a plain option and several decorated options. the Internet says the stripes have over time lost their symbolic meaning (= denoting a class), so I decided they looked cool enough to be there.

2. a tunic with proper shoes - normally, the right choice for a formal occasion. tm-em, same 34 "fancy" swatches + three additional: 1) white with narrow purple stripes, for… erm… checks notes equestrians, 2) white with broad purple stripes for senators, 3) a purple one fit for an emperor. can't pair them with a toga (for now), but why should it stop you? only the emperor special swatch is available for teens (sorry, too young to be in the Senate).

3. a tunic for boys. shorter than the girls's ones, hence a different mesh. is it warranted? YES. 20 + 10 swatches.

ANCIENT ROMAN NECESSITIES. PART 1: WOMEN

I know, it's very unexpected. I've been having lots of fun with the Test of Time challenge, and then I got to Ancient Rome… and the fun ended :/ enormous respect to all creators who have made cc for that era, but it's just not enough. I hereby present to you the results of my latest hyperfixation.

the meshes are my own, frankenmeshed from maxis meshes and modified. no need to fret about violating my TOU, because I don't care. use, modify, recolor, include. they all should have fat and pregnancy (tf-af) morphs.

1) long-sleeved, low-waist tunic. because of… common sense reasons, it's suited best for women who are more well-off. tf-ef, 28 swatches. DOWNLOAD

2) tunic with a stola; again. tf-ef, 73 swatches… I am sorry. I went ham. the actual Romans probably weren't THAT fun with their color combinations, anyway, but my sims Romans will be. they all have pretty borders, for the sake of consistency. DOWNLOAD

3) simple shorter tunic for working class women. tf-ef, 20 swatches, no fancy dyes or borders. DOWNLOAD

4) girls: shorter basic tunic and longer fancy one. those aren't as different, I guess. DOWNLOAD SHORT | DOWNLOAD LONG

something something for an upcoming upload 👀 @clepysdra's gladiator sandals converted from ts4 to ts2 as a pantless bottom! i've always desperately needed something like this for the test of time challenge 😊

they're for teens to adults, but enabled for elders; they're also unisex - wow, a male pantless bottom! they're medium-poly at just 2354 polys. 13 swatches, all other ages are repo'd to adults of their gender. categorised as everyday, formal, and outerwear!

another historical outfit from @clepysdra, for @shibarulata: their mycenaean bard robe converted from ts4 to ts2 as a fullbody outfit, paired with their gladiator sandals. it's more greek than roman, but super excited to use this in my tot challenge 🤩

the outfit is about 5.6k polys, for teen-adult males only, all morphs. it comes in 10 swatches and is categorised as everyday/formalwear, with tm repo'd to am. oh, and keep in mind that i townified it, too!

Recolors of the Maxis Toga + Teen and Child Conversions by Cocomama in @peacemaker-ic's Pleasantly Playful

I was looking for more variety, and came across one of my favourite palettes for TS4, so... here we are! There are 24 recolours in total, with teen females repo'd to adult female and everything else repo'd to adult male. Exactly what I was looking for in the Roman era 😍

is the place gonna be called lake ego forever or is it gonna be rebranded in later generations (still don't know if your save is going to go futuristic/sci-fi or not)

I've actually been contemplating this, I kind of want to rename it depending on the era... right now I'm looking at 'Hubrisium' for Roman, maybe 'Hubrisia' in later Medieval eras, and then... something-something Ego in modern times?

I really hope to be able to reach Sims 3 'Into the Future' type things someday, but we'll wait and see 😅

when you reach modern day (in like 20 years irl probably), do you think you're gonna simulate different eras (80s/90s/etc)? i remembered there was a tumblr page for retro-themed ts2 cc so i thought that'd be fun. not sure how far you could go after that unless you allowed the sims to enter a futuristic world at some point after several generations

Oh absolutely!! I've already got plans for eras beyond the Victorian era (thank you, Bridgerton, for re-introducing me to the Regency) and I was thinking of changing eras every 2 rounds or so as I go on. I've also been keeping a @freezerbunny-sims2 idea of technology and other fashions changing over time in mind 👀

SUPER excited for the Roaring Twenties in particular. I read a Thea Stilton book featuring fashions from there as a kid and I'm still in love. Will probably have to make a lot of the CC myself but... worth it 🤞

They're not necessarily 'historical', but they definitely fit in with the Roman era ^-^ Plus they're super gorgeous!

Third set of pantless bottoms are some H&M sandals for AF & TF, recoloured in gold and black. The file also contains the original brown colour from chalkmetal’s download, in case anyone doesn’t already have it. I just wanted all my pantless shoes to have matching panties. :P

Mesh is also included, and files are labelled!

Nobles Don’t Clean / Cook Mods

Are you sick of your noble sims running around making beds, washing the dishes, cooking dinner, and generally behaving un-nobly? Are you sick of having to lock doors or micromanage their every move to avoid this?

One of my absolute FAVOURITE mods for the later stages of the challenge. I'm already using it in the Roman era and it's absolutely fantastic.

Greetings from our shiny new joint Simblr and as a first “official” post here, we think this one is pretty damn exciting (if we do say so ourselves)! 

We are SO pleased to present Greet Expectations, a historical replacement for all default greetings in the game using some existing, but mostly new animations converted to TS2 from TSM and TS4. This mod is driven by the Medieval Caste Traits both by @cedanyblee and @mortia​, and Sims will greet each other appropriately according to class. There’s lots to see so please read below the cut for more info.
