If there's any character in this world who suffers from literary Ken-ification it's Patroclus. Especially in the zeitgeist of today (thanks tsoa), it's always Achilles AND Patroclus, never just Patroclus. Who is he? Why does he exist? He is Achilles' boyfriend! What's his job? Death! In the sense that he just. Dies. That's just his job now. Death. Death and Achilles' boyfriend. That's it.

I will never understand how Odysseus has all the braincells while also having none of them at the same exact time. He is an amazing war general and is insanely smart but has the attention span of a rat fuelled by the need to cause chaos simply because he is bored. He can't listen to one thing while getting distracted by the thing he was specifically told not to touch.

the way that the entirety of tsoa is actually told by patroclus to thetis when he is dead and without achilles and the way that that achilles is brought to life through the pages because the pages are all that there are of him but the pages themselves are part of the story and the way that the reader is in the story because they are patroclus when they are reading it until the end when they realize they are thetis hearing the story from him and the way th-
