3/10 snowboards
I don't know what to think about this episode. I actually like the girl group cases, because I think it's something different. However, this episode isn't the most interesting and the plot is rather bad.

Episode 1117: Karate Teacher Ran Mori
Tumblr media
Anime original
Plot in five keywords:
Ran teaches a group of children in karate because their regular teacher is hurt
The teacher acts weird, so Conan follows him and sees that he's discussing with another man
There's a blackout during the training session. The teacher leaves the room to fix the fuse
Later, someone screams for help when the man the teacher was discussing with is found dead
It also looks like the culprit stole the money that was in the victim's safe and that the culprit has moved the corpse after killing the man
Important plot development:
Minor Ran x Shinichi relationship progress
Rating:
4/10 karate teachers
Hmm... it's a nice setting, but the case isn't really catching my interest. It's decent at best. I like that Takagi had to play the victim and demonstrate the trick again.

Tumblr media
Based on volume 102, files 1085-1087

Turns out that Jugo and Chihaya are taking part of it
Later, a murder takes place at the party
One of the men must have shot the woman and it looks like it must have been the last one who met her
But it turns out that it's not that easy
Important plot development:
Looks like Jugo is interested in Chihaya
Jugo is looking for someone to marry
We get to know that Chihaya was in love with Matsuda and is searching for someone like him
Jugo thinks Sato and Chihaya are very alike. Chihaya agrees (Sato is like her earlier self)
Takagi reminds Chihaya of Matsuda. She thinks that he lives quite dangerous (just like Matsuda)
Chihaya seems interested in Jugo
Sato is worried about Takagi
Chihaya tells Takagi that he is just like someone who died alone (Matsuda)
Sato is jealous of Chihaya. She then realizes that Sato's Takagi's girlfriend and tells her that she should keep him
Seems like Chihaya noticed that Conan took part in resolution of the case

This is a very nice two-parter with funny moments and an interesting case. I really like Chiyaha in this. She had some very good lines. I felt well-entertained, so watch it.

Episode 1114: The Holed-Up Sensation

Conan doesn't believe that it was suicide, so they have to find the other person that was involved in the bet
Important plot development:
Nope
Rating:
4/10 hostages
The plot is actually quite interesting. I think it could be something we haven't seen in a filler yet. But it's also a bit boring. Overall, it's a watchable episode.

Episode 1113: Last Dinner For You
Tumblr media
Anime original
Plot in five keywords:
Kogoro, Ran and Conan are going to a restaurant because Kogoro has a coupon for getting a free drink
But suddenly, there's a fire inside another restaurant
A corpse is found inside the building. The person was stabbed after a fight
There are a few suspects and it looks like one of them gets blackmailed by the other
Why are there only footprints of the victim and why did he wash the kitchen utensils right before his death?
Important plot development:
Nothing
Rating:
8/10 burned restaurants
I like that we get to see Yuminaga in this episode. I like the mix of characters they recently use in the filler episodes and it's been a while since we've seen him last. The episode itself is quite good. There are funny, but also tragic moments, especially at the end. And you have a chance to find out who's the culprit.

Detective Conan DVD Box 17
Tumblr media
Included episodes:
Episode 400-424
Bonus material:
Episode guide
Favorite episode:
421-422: Ginkgo-Colored First Love
Least favorite episode:
414: The Detective Boys’ Bluebird Chase
424: The Photo Mail from the Clown
Rating:
6/10 animals
There are some very good and very interesting episodes, but also many filler episodes included in this box. I still think it's worth watching, because in my opinion you can still have a lot of fun with it, but it's really not the best selection because of so many (bad) fillers.

Episode 1111-1112: Rube Goldberg Machine
Tumblr media
Anime original
Plot in five keywords:
A weird mechanism leads to a dead person
Conan, Ran and Kogoro walk by the crime scene after solving another case
Conan realizes that it must have been murder, not an accident, but everybody (except his wife) has an alibi
The wife says, she knows who's killed him after they find out that it must have started with the rube goldberg machine
More and more suspects appear, but the main suspect is missing. And then, another corpse is found
Important plot development:
Shinichi is kinda involved in this case and Ran almost finds out about it
Rating:
9/10 rube goldberg machines
The plot is actually quite interesting. Also, a filler with Yamamura. I think that's pretty cool. You can learn something in this episode, but there are also many funny moments and for some reason, some moments remind me of the Conan movies (I don't know why...). All in all, I think that's a pretty good filler, but some parts are a bit confusing, because of all the different characters. This could easily be a canon episode. The case is really good in my opinion. Btw, nice plot twist at the end.

Least favorite case: Onimaru's Killing Technique "Tornado Cut" or Invaders from the Moon
Rating:

Hmm, the plot development in this volume is very interesting, but I don't really know where the cliffhanger at the end is going in the next volume. I'm not quite sure if it's one of my favourite volumes. It's still very enjoyable to read. There are cute moments between Yaiba and Sayaka and I think we've got some character development of Yaiba.
