Dorm Witchcraft: Cleansing

A hard part about being in a dorm is that dorms don't allow the burning of candles, herbs, or incense. As an incense fanboy, that's especially difficult for me. Cleansing can be especially useful in college/uni because school is a lot of pressure, especially with the workload. Cleansing the space you sleep and study in will make you feel a little bit more at ease, and positively reflect on aspects of your life (even if it only feels like a little). Thankfully there are other forms of cleansing that are acceptable and doable in a dorm! When cleansing you should have a door or window open so that the negativity can leave.

Cleansing Sprays

Cleansing sprays are a method of cleansing which make use of spray bottle filled with water and other various herbs soaked into that water. You can also put crystals in it, but I would look into if that crystal can be in water. When you use a cleansing spray, just spray in counter-clockwise motions around your room/dorm. Make sure you spray entrances such as doors, windows, and mirrors. Here is some directions on how to make one: Cleansing Spray.

Sound Cleansing

I am assuming that while living in a dorm there are sound rules, but you can still sing your heart out without it being a sound violation as long as you are aware of yourself.

Play songs which have a happy/positive energy that you can sing along to. Visualize the energy from your voice and the music cleansing the room.

Use bells, ring them in the corners of the room

Wind chimes at the door, can dispel negative energy

Clapping has also been believed to dispel negative energy

Salt Bowl

Put a bowl of salt near where the most traffic in your room is to absorb negative energy

Diffuser

Ensure that no one who also resides in the dorm/room or yourself aren't allergic. Most dorms allow for oil diffusers, using essential oils in a diffuser can cleanse a room similar to the way smoke cleansing can. Some oils that can be used for cleansing in the diffuser include:

Cedar

Sage

Lemon

Rosemary

Clove

Dragon's Blood

Peppermint

Physical Cleaning

Physical cleaning a space, sweeping the negative energy out, vaccuuming, wiping down surfaces, putting things in the right place, etc. is a form of cleansing. Listen to some happy music while you do it and boom double whammy.

MCM House part 5

Hello Hello!

In a lighter situation now, I wanted to share with the last part of the MCM House, the part 5 which concentrates on the bedroom. It’s composed of 46 new items, with few modular pieces like the walking closet, the accent storages and the fabric headboard! Also, I know some of you were waiting for them, the wig from the Extravaganza collection are coming in this set! 😁 I’ve tried to add a few clutter pieces, and also some special vases for a very dear friend in this community!

Just to let you know that the walking closet and clothes, even if the clothes are recolor of dream home decorator, is basegame compatible! Note that you will need to active MoveObjects to put each walking closet pieces side by side because i didn’t manage to fix the footprint to have it working without cheat code.

You can find the items by searching for MCM or Pierisim in game.

Some items share the same textures so make sure to have the packages finishing by “texture” in your mod folder :)

All base game compatible except the vanity table that requires Vintage Glamour pack

unmerged and merged version available.

Matching Swatches for Stairs, Railing, and Fence

I made this set for my own use and thought y'all might find it useful too. It was a pain to do it (in TSRW) though, so I probably won't be making more.

This set comes in four packages:

MadameRiaMatchingSwatchesMegaFenceBasic: Recolor of the Mega Fence (Basic). Fence posts repeat every tile

MadameRiaMatchingSwatchesMegaFenceBasicNoRepetition: Fence posts only show up at the end points of the fence line. (You can combine with the repeating version for variation of post placements!)

MadameRiaMatchingSwatchesMegaRailing: Standard recolor of the original Mega Railing.

MadameRiaMatchingSwatchesUnremarkableStairs: Standard recolor of the Unremarkable Stairs.

I used TSRW to make all of these recolors, so I ran into a lot of problems. Because of that, there are a few important notes about this set:

No custom thumbnails! I couldn't figure out how to add them and after solving a lot of other TSRW problems, I was too tired to do anything in TSRW anymore.

The Mega Fence (Basic) has a different price (§25) so it will show up earlier in the BB catalogue! I actually had to use a different fence as the clone and then had to re-import all the assets. It's a long story, but frankly, a fence described as basic shouldn't be that expensive anyway.

The Unremarkable Stairs use the Martian Soil wallpaper as their default wall. This happened when I hid the CC version of the Simple Siding wallpaper it originally came with. We all delete the stair walls or cover them with a new wallpaper anyway.

I made this set because I wanted build objects to match with my Limber Lumber floor recolor. When I first made that floor recolor (one of my first pieces of CC), my recoloring technique was very inconsistent, but I tried to match this set to that first recolor anyway. I can't really say that they are from Peacemaker's Wood Tones 02 because if you took an eyedropper to the palettes there would definitely be discrepancies, but it is inspired by his palette!
