Ive been working hard and making interesting things this week! I love ring dishes! I lost my engagement ring only ONCE so far. It's a feat for me! I loose a lot of things. I now place my ring in a ring holder similar to this, when I work in clay. Problem solved...unless I take it off when I'm not around one of my ring holders haha. Happy Friday!! I'm so in love with the dots on this guy! Pressing dots over and over and over into the piece was so therapeutic...so I apologize in advance if there's several "dot" mugs in next update! I know this is a weird and somewhat "woo-woo" thing to say...but...the #2017eclipse changed my life. Seriously. Like...I feel...different since it happened. Not in a bad way! Haha. Just different. We went to see totality, which was 45 minutes away from the studio. I went with my fam (swipe to see us geeking out haha) The sky grew dark. I think I screamed and cried. (🙄😬) and I felt this eerie calm while looking at the moon. It was amazing. It was disorienting. And it was over. I think it changed my life. The sky was dark and mesmerizing and I tried to capture the darkness in this mug more so than the strange sunset that was around us. The darkness seemed to matter more to me. Hi guys! I hope you had a great Sunday! We've been cleaning the studio allllll weekend. It's so overwhelming haha. But I'm so happy to be working in an organized space soon! The eclipse excitement has me thinking about the stars and galaxy. I've never thought much about outer space. It just seems to infinite and, honestly, a bit terrifying haha. Can you imagine being an astronaut and always having to depend on oxygen? And always wearing a helmet? And not being claustrophobic? Oh gosh! But then there's the flip side: beautiful stars and strange but new sensations. I bet it's overwhelming! It was just a thought that passed through my mind as I was cleaning the studio this morning haha. I always try to imagine living other people lives. I think it's my way for me to develop empathy for others. It's kinda fun to do! Of course, it's only based on my limited experiences and senses...but, sometimes, it can be a great way to escape the here and now...especially when you're waiting in a line haha. Thank you guys for the great mug sale yesterday and for the kind words! I'm having fun writing notes and picking out beautiful tissue paper. It's one of my favorite things to do! I'm sometimes frustrated when, after I explain that I am an artist, people respond with, "Oh! You play all day!" 😑 Haha...um. No. There's a lot to my day to day living. Throwing on the pottery wheel requires a lot of skill and upper body strength. There's also website maintenance (a ton of computer knowledge) , TAXES 😑, networking, emails, emails, emails, packaging (I ❤️ that part!), carving clay, firing the kiln, creating and managing classes, marketinggggggg, planning, goal setting, etc. BUT! I thoroughly enjoy doing this. What helps is finding people in the world who uplift you and cheer you on when things get hard (or when people tell you to quit because you're not "logical". ) Surround yourself with like minded people. Heck, surround yourself with positive people. (constructive criticism is great, but also CAN be thinly disguised as something...else...😒) Life is hard. And unfair. So do what you love. Be passionate. Things might work out. It might not. But wouldn't it be better to try than to not try at all? #likeseriously #justdoit #WeAreTheCreativeEconomy (at Tthomasarts)

False alarm for the preview guys! 😑 I got home late last night and I haven't added gold nor any luster to some of the mugs...so I'm having a final firing this morning. It now pushes the preview for Wednesday morning! I promise it will be early in the morning...hopefully around 7! This sweetie is being fired tonight so we will see how it comes out too. The kiln is firing! With all the mess and sadness in Charlottesville, I held my head down and worked hard today. I am thankful that @symong80 was there with me. But!
