I count it as a guilty pleasure because even though it's a pretty basic/common trope, I think a lot of people have a negative reaction to it being used because its considered really overdone at this point. But idc I love a good juicy love triangle. I love when romance in fiction gets jumbled up with weird complicated other feelings and becomes messy and slightly toxic and I love how watching each part of the triangle navigate that mess in their own personal way can, when done well, be a way to show you a lot about their psyche and how they operate

I know a ton of people hate this trope, but there's something in the drama of someone being forced to make a choice that gets me, along with the fun shipping aspect, picking your "team" and whatnot. I also find it fun to see how the creator plays it, there is just a ton of fun versions.
