Dead in the freezer

A crisis raining acid

Ghosts watching, faces placid

Bones, branches and burning twigs

Losing love and laying in sin

Wolf teeth and a knife

100 necks to bite

Your jacket’s lit up in flames

The sacrifice is slain

I’m a storm that breaks the trees

I’m a threat on haunted streets

Blood satiates the vampire

Veins like slashed car tires

The pilgrimage from the valley to the inner city

Yearning to burn everything that is pretty

Falling through a tunnel

Fists raising up to pummel

My soul is turning chrome

Under a glass dome

I threw the key into flames

Kept you locked away

I spiked their drinks and set off the bomb

In a flash, humanity was gone

Snakes slithering within

Cups of poison tremble

at a table set for devils

The house shakes from falling stones

I cut the wire to the phone

Can you hear the wounds that whisper

like a corpse inside a picture?

I changed my name many times

and climbed the hillside, getting high

I know life can get sour

in foreboding prison towers

There’s a mask over my face

A plastic house erased

Red rust on my innocence

Guns so loud and dissonant

I run from the house towards a rotten willow

and make the grass my bed and pillow

I’ll float on rafts down country rivers

Fleeing the coldest winter shivers

I’ll find a golden kingdom

Dangle from a demon’s wingtip

In the morning, the light will reveal

A path to travel, avoiding what’s real

Living on the fringes of a strange town

Where sirens are the rarest sound
