where can ART take you

My husband and I, reminiscent of our second date at  Casina Del Lago, right in the middle of the beautiful garden of villa Borghese, had coffee before his rendezvous for the day.

I decided to visit the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna at Viale dele Belle Arti, an impressive building that was built centuries ago.

I'm so enthusiastic of spending my whole afternoon in such an interesting place full of art history.photo1. The Artist interprets the Museum: Alfredo Pirri with 19th century sculptures welcomes you to this beautiful hall, suggested it to be a ceremony room, why?  because he said entering a museum is a ceremonial act, its the cracked mirror you're walking on, it underlines the very need to slow down and interact with the museum works so  that your presence can contribute to modifying the work you're walking on and are immersed in. In this way you acquire the awareness that each time a work is looked at it becomes revitalized as if it was showing itself for the first time.

 i think i just discovered the man who started selfie :) Afro Basaldella.

He was the guy who introduced self portrait. He made a portrait of himself holding his tools of art.

After  hours of forgetting, temporarily about everything, my hunger gave me a nudge. I was lucky they had this beautiful restaurant on the right wing of the building 

 I had my fettuccine with sea bass and olives. It was d-e-li-cious!

I have aways wondered how a person spend hours with the figure in their painting. I mean how do they do that? to me its exceptional talent!

But how does one appreciate art? 

I know that Art museums are not like amusement parks: You're not expected to enjoy everything. But whatever your tastes, you'll find something you like. mine is of Claude Monet and Silvestro Lega

Artists create their work to tell a story. Im not an art expert myself but i guess anyone who says they don't appreciate paintings just hasn't found an artist who speaks to them. Yet.

Sunday! :)

We took advantage of the beautiful sunday weather by driving off to the Alban hills of Lazio! It is where Castel Gandolfo is located, the summer residence and vacation retreat for the pope. Although interesting as it may sound it was not our intention to visit, but the overlooking view from this castle is Lago di Albano

The clear water of the lake was indeed inviting!

, the site of Olympic watersports some years ago, where we planned to discover by bike! 

 You will see many people out there - in kayaks and canoes.

many locals have carved out their own little private space. 

it is imaginative and satisfying.

The weather changed drastically, but I'm happy it didn't rain. Right after lunch we went to the nearby town Nemi. 

Nemi is actually more like a village since it is extremely small. There was a nearby lake too called lake Nemi.

We managed to go around 30-45 minutes around the town.I don't know why but when people are dressed differently i get excited.:)

This man has been giving away pieces of cheeses to try,  while he charms people with his stories,  i got to try cheese with champagne. it was good, but I'm not so much a fan of cheeses unlike the woman beside me, every cheese she tried she buys. now thats fanatic! 

I found something that would make me come back and it was this delicious tarts made of yellow cream and wild strawberries, they are smaller than normal but the sweetest! Its dreamy and wonderful, in your mouth they melt, and in every bite, makes you want more.

They have beautiful drinking fountains too. whats great about it is that you'll taste a little bit of sparkle in their water. or maybe its just me!:)

Aside from cheese and wild fruit tarts they also produce all kinds of meat products as my husband seemed to enjoy the strong smell off vintage meat.

right at the backseat! the advantage of car pooling and on our way back to Rome we enjoyed the amazing view of sunset!

it all started like this.

Ive always wanted to blog, thinking it would be nice to have people read your views on things, inspire in your on way, get people excited on your story but whenever i try to put some time on building up this thought i get a little lost on deciding what i should write about or most of the time laziness just eats me up.

i browsed on my tumblr account put up some photos but seemed too dull for me, how would it in anyway excite or inspire? i kept questioning myself if its something that i really have to get into, I'm not sure,really, but everyday i feel that i have to-somehow. it annoyed me thinking this seems really easy, but if it was why can't i just do it?

when frustration invades my peace, i like to run.

I went out, and while my thoughts were running with me I remembered the words from an amazing woman i met, Laura who said "share something like talking to a friend, it doesn't have to be big, but you have to start somewhere", .  I nodded while catching my breath, affirming my thoughts, and today, i start blogging!:)
