but at the end of the game, his shackles are taken off and there's no need for him to keep that facade up.

so genuinely, why the fuck is he like this in spirit of justice.

and even in dual destinies, it's moreso apollo and phoenix he's rude to. he lets up on athena a little, because he knows and loves her.

it's such a disservice to his character to turn around and write him as if he still has the facade--leaning into it even more, and directing it towards athena as well. why the fuck is he written doing this.

REALLLL!!! I didn't get why people were so surprised when beanix seemed "cold" and "mean" when that's just how he really acts. In aa2, Maya didn't even know that Edgeworth "died" until Franziska mentioned it because Phoenix NEVER told Maya anything. In aa3, he couldn't even tell Edgeworth what his relationship with Iris is even though they're FRIENDS. Edgeworth, on the other hand, actually gives in quite easily when it comes to Phoenix. He doesn't even hesitate to tell Phoenix about what he thinks really happened in the DL6 incident even though it's one of the most traumatic incident that happened in his life. He drops his stoic facade easily when it comes to Phoenix while Phoenix hides his secretive nature by making it seem like he's the more "sunshine" in the duo.

My narumitsu hc is that Edgeworth is definitely the "sunshine" not because of his personality but because he's Phoenix's "sunshine" who gives him joy in his life :33

the problem with how people characterize narumitsu is that they only see them as the grumpy and the sunshine ship dynamic, so they end up writing phoenix as a golden retriever and miles as an old gay queen.

but like, phoenix is such a bitch. the bitchiest bitch that ever bitched, actually. he enjoys sarcasm and trash talking, but he has this thing called "situational awareness", so he knows not to behave like a massive cunt in front of people involved in a murder investigation

on the other hand miles gets easily flustered and his fight or flight response to being caught off guard is spitting a venomous comeback. but in his head he's making puns. he's thinking about how the plants are beautiful. he's like an easily spooked horse who is also a dork that gets into a staring contest with a dog. and then loses
