Hes still in a temporary catatonic state, he can sort of respond with one word. He doesn't understand what exactly is being said to him but he does understand positive or negative actions/facial expressions. He does feel pain significantly from the little treatment patch having side affects.

He little bubble of him wantinf Claire and Rebecca ita because hes learned they're taking care of him. Claire reads to him, feeda him and helps him in other things he cant dl by himself yet, and Rebecca's the good ol doc and helping rehab him physically.

Chris kind of seems straight up evil, but is he really? After everything Weskers done?
