especially when it’s from someone like Russ - even though it’s all hypothetical, it really is motivating in a way to see that some of the crew are just as on board with the show continuing as we are!
from russ’s tweets as well as other crew members’ tweets im getting a pretty positive feeling about Netflix and Rise. ik nothing is certain, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to say netflix would get success from the movie and decide to continue the show especially bc they signed a deal with Nickelodeon.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in talks already tbh. still wanting to not get my hopes up too too high, but I’ve been seeing a lot of...negative emotions on the tl lately (perfectly understandable) and it gets a bit like much so it’s nice to see some excitement!
Yes being persistent is important in making sure we’re getting heard but y’all
Let’s not cross the line into harassment
Yes, let them know how disappointed you are in the cancellation, or “pause” as they like to call it, but there are respectful ways to go about it
Even if you’re joking, making threats towards to company and the people that work there will only give them reason to ignore our good intentions to keep an incredible show going
Be angry, rant to friends in DMs, but when directing at nick or the execs, keep it professional. Explain why the cancellation is so upsetting, offer up soltuations you’d like to see them follow through with, but threats and rude behavior will just have them ignoring whatever valid think you have to say
Hello! I hope you are doing ok ^^ I was wondering if you just like many in the fandom consider Leo and Donnie twins or not.
Oh boy, the Pandora’s box question I was suspecting might happen.
The really simple answer is: not at all. I actually don’t read or engage in anything that uses “disaster twins” as anything more than a simple, funny way to refer to Leo and Donnie.
Twins are a fun dynamic to have in a show: they grew up together and have a tendency to be very close because of their shared life experiences. A show that I adore is Gravity Falls, and I think that show showcases everything great about that specific bond!
But the thing is… the way the Rise fandom seems to have taken this phrase into fandom lore acts as a way to put additional emotional weight between the Donnie and Leo relationship. They’re the close ones, the ones that just get each other and are always there.
Which is all wrong to me because… well, wouldn’t all four boys do the same? I don’t think Leo and Donnie’s relationship is any closer or more important than Donnie and Mikey, or any other combo you could list. They all grew up together, they all have the same thirteen years of being mutants together. By putting such emphasis on just two of them, it feels like the other two are a bit left out, which I just can’t see.
So, yeah! If you like that fandom trope, have fun! But you won’t ever see any emphasis on it in that manner showing up in my writing. There’s lots of other people making that kind of content.
