So I realize there's a lot we're itching to learn from the entire bachelor party fiasco, but for some reason, what keeps grabbing my attention is Eddie's outfit. Like, yes, he slowly loses more clothing as the night goes on, but like, how did we then go from an open neck button up all night, to only the collar of the shirt left? That's what I want to know. Like, who buttoned it up just to rip/cut off the rest???? Idk why but this is the mystery I want solved. I need to know the logistics.

Anytime someone complains about their ship being slow burn. 5 years, 10 years, 15 years. Don't fucking want to hear it. 25 years goddammit. 25 years and 10 of them were spent with only half the ship still present before the other half re-emerged, gave us hope, got so close....only to slowly let our hopes be crushed. They haven't seen each other in like a year now, wtf? We got an "I love you," but not really, and an "I can't right now" almost kiss. Like, stfu with your "It's been X years!" already🙄😒. Amateurs. 😂😂😂
When someone says that they understand your pain cus’ their ship broke up, but your ship hasn’t even made it to first base yet and it’s been 24.. years.. like, NO SHARON YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

Anybody think that they should just mesh SVU and OC at this point? Like, I love the team on OC, but hate their cases. Love SVU, but not gonna lie, not a fan of the squad right now outside of Liv and Fin and Fin isn't even there most of the time. If we could just have a whole ass squad with most of them together, that'd be awesome. And then we wouldn't have to beg for crumbs with E&O. Just a thought.

Like we knew. We all knew. All the fans knew, and everyone working with the show knew. But the fact that they're actually talking about it? Being transparent about it? From Mr. PR Golden Boy's mouth to the masses? Mind-blowing.
To know for a fact that Bi Buck (and I'm assuming queer Eddie and queer Buddie) was talked about (again we KNEW but like now we know know, ya know)??? I mean Tim literally said years ago that all the discussions we have about buddie online are the discussions they have in the writer's room. The fact that they TRIED to give it us and were shut down. The fact that we still rallied behind them because we fucking. KNEW?!!?!?!
Like queer fans especially like....I'm not going to get into the history of queercoding/the Hayes Code, but anyone who's been around the block with queer media just knows that writers (not just 911 writers) have done their damndest over the years to give the audience queer characters while still trying to appease their homophobic bosses that control their livelihood and the life of their art in general.
It just fucking sucks that only now, when networks realize that openly queer media sells, that they're finally allowing writers and creators to finally tell their authentic stories.
911 is interesting. They're kinda like the elder Gen-Z/Young millennial cuspers. They started during a time when queer media was allowed some visibility but still had heavy sanctions placed upon it, and so they still dealt with homophobia and discrimination in underhanded and mostly invisible ways, and are living long enough to see the social transition into big profitable open queer media.
It's like...I've heard a lot of elder queer people question why some of their fellow elders are so "mad" that young queer people have it "easier" and can be more "open". The critique is "isn't that what we were all fighting for? So that younger people did not have to deal with what we dealt with?" The same goes for TV. I know a lot of people (like people who came from SPN or the MCU or Merlin or Rizzoli & Isles or Sherlock, etc) are seeing what's happening with 911 and they're experiencing this shock of like "we deserved this" and they did. But now they get to see the fruits of their labor come true for new(er) shows like 911 or RW&Rb or Heartstopper or Heartbreak High, or Interview with a Vampire or Good Omens or Umbrella Acadmey or Euphoria or Yellowjackets or the Haunting of Bly Manor, etc.
It's still a long battle, but occasionally, like now, we get to see these BIG wins, and it should be something to celebrate.
This, combined with the fact that we knew a queer Eddie storyline was also being discussed, tells me all I needed to know. And again, I already fucking knew.
Now all we gotta do is wait. We've already waited this long.

Las Vegas killed me😭😭😭😭 I got sucked into it as a kid when they ran reruns on TNT every weekday morning, and it's the show that brought me to illegal free streaming websites(before everyone started their own and when Netflix was just shipping discs). I watched from start to finish, and the last episode was the worst cliffhanger ever. I looked it up to see when the next one was coming out, only to find out the show had been canceled before they could make the last 1 or 2 episodes. I was crushed. They didn't even get to finish up the season😭😭😭😭😭

In January of last year I posted a whole rant on this topic, but instead of the Tommy division, my frustration was caused by how a lot of the Fandom reacted to Eddie leaving the 118 and how they made it all about Buck. For me, this highlighted a divide in the Fandom, almost Team Buck and Team Eddie, similar to Team Cap and Team Iron Man. Even though a lot of people shipped the two together, there were sides and in the 911 Fandom, most are Team Buck and it makes me sad that there's such a distintinct feeling that we're only okay with Eddie because he's there to make Buck happy.
If you shipped Destiel, then you know it's possible for a character to come in 4 seasons late(Cas) and still become just as important to the Fandom as their OG favorite(dean). With Destiel shippers, there was always a balance to the Fandom, there wasn't a clear favorite between the two like here.
I too believe that if Eddie and Tommy would have gotten together, we would have seen an even worse reaction from the Fandom than we had before the BuckTommy kiss. Could you imagine how mad they would have been after Buck spent the whole episode feeling left out only for Eddie and Tommy to end up being the ones coming out to him instead???? Idk if they would have been so happy and accepting and grateful just to get Canon bi or demi Eddie.
Now, do I believe that most of us still want Buddie together? Yes. Different people and relationships are meant for you at different stages of your life and I understand that Tommy is good for Buck right now.
But I also believe that most of our shippers would rather see Buck as Chris's dad than Eddie and think that Buck would be the better dad. I think that most of them would only ever be okay with Eddie ending up with someone else if it created jealousy in Buck and became about him and not Eddie's happiness.
I think people are so convinced that even though Eddie was happy with Marisol and canonically sexually attracted to her in his own "naughty" words, that they're still convinced the catholic guilt and his hesitation is still all about Buck. But even though Buck spent the entire episode trying to get Eddie's attention and talking about Eddie, they've become convinced with one kiss that no, the jealousy and attention seeking was obviously all about Tommy🤨🙄 or both of them or something. We don't know anything more about Tommy than we do Marisol, but Tommy's cool because he's helping Buck grow, but we've refused the idea that Marisol could be the same for Eddie?
Why are Buddie shippers so critical of Eddie while being so understanding of Buck? With Eddie, there's always a "but" attached to anything he says or does in their eyes. It makes me sad, because I think that like Buck, Eddie is a beautiful, flawed, complex character that I want to see dissected psychologically. But no one seems to care about his mental state, or his past or his own trauma unless it affects Buck, good or bad.
I just wish we were seeing more love for BOTH Buck and Eddie, and not always so focused on Buck🫤😟
It's actually concerning how quickly people are dropping Eddie and jumping to Tommy. Like, I get the excitement over Bi!Buck (Because it's amazing), but people are now wishing death on Eddie and jumping ship from Buddie completely?
Like, Tommy didn't have much of a redemption? He came out of nowhere and then kissed Buck and people are acting like Buckt*mmy is amazing and romantic and they have such chemistry? Like, he is very similar to the other love interests Buck has had. The only real main difference is that he's a man.
I'm pretty sure the only reason people are jumping to him so quick is because he's a guy. If Tommy was a woman, he would not get this kind of love at all.
It makes me wonder how much people actually shipped Buddie and whether it was just that they wanted Buck to get with a dude. Buck is obviously the fandom favorite. He's fanonified beyond belief. And this isn't hating on Buck, but the fandom tends to make everything about him. Eddie getting shot? About him. The well? About him. Chris in general? About him.
If it had been Eddie who Tommy had kissed (as was apparently the original plan) and Eddie who Tommy went on a date with, the fandom would not love it so much. They would probably make it all about Buck.
I may be coming off harsh, but it gets frustrating. I'm not saying to not ship Buck with Tommy, but at least be self-aware to see if you are doing it so Buck has a good relationship, or if you just want him to date a man.

So everyone else seems to be bolstered in their Buddie hope after this episode, but am I the only one that's getting a sinking feeling instead?
On one hand, yes, the repressed catholic guilt for Eddie makes me optimistic--and was I understanding Maddie's hint about Eddie correctly or was I crazy?--but everything else read to me as ABC beginning to--maybe not solidfy Buck and Eddie as only friends, but at least pump the breaks on Buddie.
I get letting them grow and learn more about themselves in separate relationships first, but Eddie's genuine, physical attraction to Marisol? Going back to the beginning of their relationship so ABC can undo how Fox just kind of through them together like usual right before the season finale and they can actually show the development of this relationship that's existed for months now but we weren't able to see? Paralleling this with Buck and Tommy who want to get to know each other better? Buck and Eddie's shorter, more bro-style interactions vs the softer more intimate interactions we were used to seeing in Buck's kitchen? The hug and "call Tommy," was all just so quick and platonic😭.
I'm not saying they'll never go there, I'm just saying I'm not so confident that if it does happen, we'll see it confirmed in the next few years.
Anyone else know the story of Benson and Stabler on SVU? They were always partners/ best friends/ride-or-dies/more-than-friends/soulmates, but Stabler was Catholic, married and had up to 5 kids. Everyone and their mother knew those two were meant to be, but their timing just never worked out. In their first 12 years before Chris(Stabler) left the show though, they hugged like a total of 3 times, never once said "I love you" or ever crossed the line physically. Okay? You with me? And yet, there was so much chemistry and love shown between them, that they were undeniable.
Cut forward 10 years, and Stabler gets his own spinoff and is brought back into Benson's life. 22 YEARS in the making. In his first season back, his wife was killed, he told her "I love you" and this giant, unspoken thing between them was actually fucking acknowledged by their characters in the show. In one season, they advanced these twos' personal relationship more than the previous 22 years put together.
But then.... nothing happened. I mean small things here and there between the two shows, an almost kiss, them admitting they want each other. But still, three years later and they still aren't together. And now we're at 25 years, for what has to be the slowest slow burn in the history of like, everything.
All this to say, I'm really afraid that ABC and Tim Minear are only coming out swinging so hard in an effort to hook existing fans and gain their loyalty. But then, it's going to go back to doing what any other major television company does, and it's going to fall back into drawing it out as long as possible. Because yeah, the show is on season 7, but if ABC wants it to go another 7 for themselves, they can't just rush and give us what we want in the first one or two seasons, that wouldn't be a good financial strategy for them. I really don't think they'll do it that way.
ABC gave us bi Buck and they can't ever take that away, but will they trap us with that bait, and be content with making everyone halfway happy to avoid taking too many more risks so soon or ever? Yeah, I really think they're not above that.
I feel like we're already falling back into the patented responses from cast and crew that "you never know" or "anything can happen" or "nothing is set in stone", so that's not making me feel great.
Don't get me wrong, I would be so happy to admit I'm wrong if it doesn't go the way I think it will, but I don't think I can live episode-to-episode for another 7 years living off scraps of Buddie interactions and subtext😭😭 I'd rather they just go the "brother" route so I can get closure and focus on fanfiction instead. The will they/won't they and overanalyslzing every single second looking for a hint of something sexual or romantic between them will be the death of me, because at the end of the day, it'll mean whatever ABC will want it to mean😭
Most of yall probably won't even read this, but I had to get my anxiety out, lmao😅

Me wondering if Eddie changed his mind about breaking up with Marisol because Buck told him he couldn't stop thinking of Tommy and just mentally shrugged and went, "Well I guess I'll just stick with what I got."
I'm such a clown sometimes.

People acting like Buck can't like guys because we've only seen him with women. Like....did you not watch season 1? Regardless of whether you believe there were signs or not, didn't Michael prove that this happens? The basis of his character's introduction was him coming out to his WIFE and CHILDREN that he was GAY 😑 just because he never ACTED on the attraction(in your eyes), doesn't mean it was never there🤨

So, I mean this in the most respectful way possible as a middle child who feels the need to make peace. The infighting that's happening, I don't like it. Can we all agree that in the end, this is a fictional show, with fictional characters, and you can ship whichever fictional ship you want? But also, you can not ship those ships too? And we'll respect that?
Maybe we can start being more conscious of how we tag everything so people aren't getting so frustrated by trying to filter everything out that they're not interested in. If the post has nothing to do with Tommy, we don't tag it with Tommy or BuckTommy you know? And if it has nothing to do with Eddie, we don't tag him or Buddie? I'm including myself in this, cause I always tagged Buddie even if the post was just about Eddie or a general 911 post, and I'm trying to not do that anymore.
There's always gonna be overlap with people who talk about both in the same post, but like, it's also okay to not include the whole Fandom in every post?
This way it's easier for people to find what they want to see. Like, personally, I wasn't bothered when other people shipped Cas and Meg together on SPN while also rooting for Destiel. But if your post is all about Meg or Meg/Cas, you don't tag Destiel. Does this make sense? Totally not telling people who to ship or not to, just maybe it's time we start dividing up the Buddie Fandom into sub groups now that there's other ships sailing in.

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused as to why everyone is suddenly so into BuckTommy when before it aired everyone was like, "What? No, not him. He's terrible, he was a dick when he was at the 118," etc. But then they kissed and they were all like, "oh, I get it, he seems like a great guy and he'll treat Buck right and I'm so happy for them!"
I just feel like people are connecting BuckTommy with Buck's Bi-Awakening and they're latching onto it as a secure way to keep Buck bi and with a guy. Like, he's just the first? Maybe he'll date other guys after? It doesn't have to be Tommy or no-one, you know? IMO we just don't know enough about Tommy to suddenly be so supportive of him, especially with what we do know of his history at the 118.
And I will say I'm with Anon when it comes to chemistry. You make a very valid point when you say that it could just be the juxtaposition with Oliver's emotive acting making Tommy seem flat, but I guess I saw it as his character just coming off as blunt, even-keeled, and no-nonsense.
Yes, I believe the kiss was well done, but everything before that? He was just so distant with Buck. Seeing how he interacted with Eddie vs Buck, just kind of proved to me how much he didn't seem to enjoy Buck's company. At least not as much as Eddie's. I remember seeing him smile at Eddie when he pulled up for the Las Vegas trip and going, huh, okay, he does have a personality, he's not just a robot. And it happened again at the basketball court, him coming alive around Eddie.
Personally, I just feel like he had more chemistry with Eddie, regardless of whether or not it was just platonic. He was polite to Buck and he was friendly to an extent, but I never got the feeling that he wanted more or that he liked Buck as more than a former co-worker type vibe. The attraction, if there was any, seemed to be one-sided, coming from Buck.
That's the root of my issue with Tommy I guess. He just doesn't seem that into Buck. He seems to be treating it like a casual thing. Liking guys isn't new for him and he doesn't want to play games or make a deep connection. It seems surface level, and Buck has tried so hard to get away from that kind of thing, it just doesn't seem right for him.
I can’t wrap my head around the people who have been pushing for bucktommy when….
They don’t have chemistry to me? Like… not even as friends? They both just kinda exist, and I don’t mean that Oliver and Tommy’s actor can’t act, I just mean that they come across as very 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️with each other to me, and the way Buck looked at Tommy before the kiss didn’t…. feel like anything?
It just came out of nowhere to me, Idk.
Sorry this took so long to be 100% real with you I just couldn’t think of the exact way to word this cos I just ramble for the most part usually but like I wanna make sure I’m clear for this ask cos ik the fandom is quite split on this topic😭😭
I don’t get the people pushing for bucktommy as like a permanent thing or “endgame” because like let’s be honest we barely know anything about Tommy and some people are acting way more invested than it calls for, like we already know it’s a fling, I understand on some level that those people are most likely just really wanting that representation but fr guys Tommy is not the only option and also representation is still now officially there whether or not buck is dating a guy currently
That being said I do get the people who are you know along for the ride and enjoying this storyline and the people who don’t like the storyline but love that we got bi buck I get them too. (Tbh I don’t know how I feel completely either haha that’s why legit you can see in every post I’m making I’m like going VERY in depth and analysing every little thing😭😭)
Chemistry I will say that like it’s a bit up and down and I made a joke about this but like the Lou (?) guy who plays Tommy is coming off very stiff in scenes (like right after the kiss) but I think that that could partly be due to the fact that his scene partner is Oliver who we know is very emotive and expressive in scenes so the contrast could be doing him dirty 😭😭.
That last part tho is one of the few times I’m gonna have to disagree with one of my anons 😔💔 I think overall that kiss scene was pretty solid and had a good amount of chemistry like I definitely could see the way it built on screen and like gave a second of will they won’t they? And like I for one could see it like on both ends just before it happened but I was low-key like omg no way and then it did and the gasp I gasped oml-😭😭
