so i started doing this way back in 2012 for up all night, and seeing as no one knows when they’re going back on tour i thought i’d just drop this here for people to have, so yeah. here’s ~mostly all of 1d’s concerts.

Yes!!!

I won’t lie, on first listen I wasn’t really feeling it. But now that I’ve had a chance to sit down and actually take it in, it’s grown on me big time.

Standouts so far:

I Can Do It With a Broken Heart

Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus

But Daddy I Love Him

Also… Guilty as Sin? Thought it was so-so at first and now it’s one of my favs.

"the club" isn't a real place. "clubs" are real. I've been to clubs, with their loudness of talking and loudness of music and actually pretty good cocktails and drinking until you think you can dance. none of them have ever been "the club." the club is erewhon, utopia, a dream of finding a reprieve from suffering and loneliness in pleasure. maybe he should be at "the club," but he cannot. we can none of us be there. also the cocktails were probably overpriced.

Times like these I'm reminded how much I miss your blog. You always managed to have a lively, thoughtful, interesting discussion of things going on in the fandom that managed to be on the whole respectful and kind. I’m a firm believer that everyone must shave their head at least once in their life. Truly a transformative experience.

I got to thinking about the prison binder fics. Just last month, people were talking about it again and you had some posts setting out the history. I remembered that the fan it all originated with explained in her original tweets that she was in an Israeli prison because she refused to serve in the IDF. That really hits differently now. I always thought of her as a light-hearted hero of the fandom. Now I finally appreciate that she’s a straight up hero.

I've thought about her lately, too, anon. I remember at the time I thought she was cool for what she had done, but I wish I'd thought about it more back then and about her reasons for what she had done. I wish I'd thought about it a lot more seriously.

something about crowds singing in unison at concerts that leaves my entire existence awestruck. its the the most human thing ever.

it's a little sad that people expect songs to always reflect the lives of the lyricist and not a sign of the lyricist's strong imagination.

you don't know mitski. you don't know hozier. kate bush did not witness a murder of a hammer horror star and take their role as the hunchback of notre dame (it would be fun if she did though)
