He didn’t realize he was looking for Zuko until his gaze fell on the empty left side of his bed, the sheets as rumpled and cold as they had been in his dream. But this time, they were rumpled not because Zuko had been laying there, but because Sokka had been twisting anxiously in his sleep. This time, they were cold not because Zuko had slipped out of bed to meditate, but because he hadn’t been there to begin with.

She's an ethereal vision in her long chiffon dress - ever the picture of grace and elegance as she twirls in fluid movements from one side of the stage to another. The embroidered fish on her skirt swim and dance through the air around her, capturing the amber light of the sunset on their fins as she goes.

@katara-week Day 5: Pirate AU or Highschool AU

i have not been able to draw much of anything because school, but the pirate au prompt had me doodling on the margins of my work so!!!

Archer!Yue inspired by Chiptrillino’s Yue-joins-the-gang ideas. The bow’s shape is based on traditional Inuit designs. Cool hue version and some image references under the cut for anyone interested.

I used to imagine her with a knife (I’m the type of person who’d give everyone I like a knife if I could lol), but I think a bow fits her better lore-wise. Others have already drawn parallels between Yue and the Moon Goddess Chang’e, which is why I think it would be interesting to reference her husband Hou Yi, the archer deity who took down nine suns.

Some AU ideas I cooked up while drawing lol:

According to the myth, Chang’e steals the pill of immortality from her husband. Yue’s blessing from the Moon Spirit gives her some level of divinity/inhuman characteristics (like, above average lifespan or something that makes her Chang’e V2.0). That’s what she surrenders to the Moon Spirit instead of her Self. This returns her magical white hair to its natural color.

Or, seeing her sacrifice, the Ocean Spirit steps in and saves her this time sans the magical side effects. She takes up archery to honor the Ocean Spirit and joins the fight against Fire Nation tyranny. Insert shooting-down-suns reference haha

TBH tho they’re just excuses I just wanna draw dark-haired Yue with a bow lmao

I’m too impatient to wait for may so here’s the beginning of my selkie master post. Azula, because the Avatars have different seal skins depending on where they’re from, has a darker tail. Her, Zuko and Roku are more like black/brown seals than the grey spotted ones found in colder regions.
