Me: If you licked the face of God would it be delicious? Or sinful?
GF: …
Me: But usually sinful is delicious 🤔
GF: Take your adderall!

I think we’re much closer to socially saying cheating isn’t bad because “Monogamy? In this economy?!”
we are about 5 years away from terminally online teenagers saying that cheating isn't bad because "my body my choice"

So apparently Reddit may be making ChatGPT astroturfing accounts in response to ongoing protests
So I'm still checking Reddit occasionally to see how the protests are going, and apparently a pretty big subreddit (r/programming) was forced into private mode by admins after supposedly exposing that Reddit is creating bot accounts running ChatGPT to undermine protests by sowing doubt in communities. Not entirely sure if it's true or not, but the evidence in this thread seems pretty damning.

I can't believe I currently get to experience first hand the cultural phenomena of migration in between apps like do you realize this is migration in the most literal sense happening Online in between made up platforms and real found communites it's a dialect exchange it is essentially just wires and invisible rays that are moving and technically they aren't moving as much as they are just,,, becoming absent and present simultaneously this is unreal because what this means is that a netnographic research could probably be conducted but it also seems unserious enough to the Research Scholars to not seriously look into but this is so fucking interesting and cool and I just wish to be able to express how deeply enthralled I am with it

The funniest parts about Tumblr, Reddit, and Twitter all collapsing is they all had to undo ONE decision, and it would've prevented it all.
If Tumblr had gone back, or even just lessened, its porn ban. It could still be in the top 10 sites, worldwide.
If Reddit had reversed its API decision, it wouldn't be struggling with a volatile, unsellable user base.
If Twitter had just not changed ANYTHING. If Musk had just LEFT THE SITE ALONE, it would've begun pulling a profit within a few years, and would've been bringing in enough revenue to keep the site alive until then.
But that didn't happen. These sites were making power hungry moves and chasing the money of advertisers to make up for it. However, each one of them forgot one very important thing:
A sanitized, unpopular website upsets it previous users. Upset users flee a site, leaving angry, volatile individuals behind. Angry, volatile users aren't marketable. Without marketable users, the site has no marketable value. And without marketable value, no advertisers are gonna give you money.

Aaaaaand that’s it! The Apollo reddit app no longer works. What a sad day. Thank you Christian for developing such a great app. It’s a shame reddit lied to him and fucked him over so hard. They even pulled his API key hours early. Little shits until the end.
Thanks to all of my mutuals. And just everyone here in general. It’s fricken corny but this website has made me enjoy the internet again. I know it’s not perfect, but guess what I’m not either so I look forward to slinging my schitposts into the void and slurping down all of yours as well.

Soooo Reddit just suspended every account of every moderator involved in the protest, and they removed us all from our moderator positions. Super cool of Spez to use his paid admins to bully his unpaid moderators.
I'm a default mod. With media training. Just throwin' that out there.

Did you notice that the first comment that contained “EDIT:” wasn’t an edited comment? 😂

Reddit admins are using chatgpt bots to spew pro Reddit responses to people criticising spez this is actually so goddamn pathetic

Sort of figured this would be the next step. Seems an excellent way to kill those communities
Update to the Reddit fiasco
Remember when Steve Huffman aka Spez said he will kick the moderators of subreddits that took part in the Blackout?
Well, he actually made good on his threat, and now the mods of some subreddit have reported that Reddit has outright threatened to ban them unless they reopen their subreddits.
It’s official: Spez took a page from Fascist dictators. He’s much worse than the Elongated Muskrat.

Louder for the guys in the back
So glad this point is now getting traction.
Reddit's - like all SM - entire worth is what users put into it. And to take the position that third party apps - all of which were created by users and exist to fill in gaps in reddits own infrastructure - are parasites feeding off free content when that is literally Reddits entire business model is the goddamn height of hypocrisy
