Kinda disheartening tbh when you search for people talking about something on tumblr and you find only a single post with like 10 notes. Anyway, I learned about this from Facebook just today and decided I'm going to abuse my follower count to spread the word.

You'll have a hard time finding this in the news because it's being covered up, but from February 4-present the RCMP have been conducting raids on multiple Mi'kmaw reserves part of Acadia First Nation. Their excuse is that they are searching for illegal cannabis.

During the raids, so far they:

Stole a number of truck houses

Stole money from an 8-yo boy's piggy-bank that he had been saving for two years

Invaded homes and destroyed personal property, including basketwork and carvings

Broke the door down of a bathroom occupied by a 14-yo boy as he was using it - the boy has been traumatized by this

Assaulted a man for questioning why they were searching his property without providing a warrant, pinning him into the snow

Cut power of security cameras to hide these actions

I cannot stress enough that the RCMP coming down this hard on our people over motherfucking cannabis is nothing but a racist excuse. There are countless, countless, countless white-owned massive grow-ops making big money without cops lifting a single finger.

I realized my rant about dysphoria from the other day isn’t exactly coherent, so allow me to explain further.

Dysphoria is, for lack of a better term, a symptom of being trans.  It’s not necessary to the trans experience, but it is a pretty common symptom, to the point where transness is considered the only thing that causes dysphoria.  But it’s not.  Intersex conditions, especially PCOS, can also cause dysphoria.  This can lead some cis intersex people, especially those without a diagnosis, to be confused about their gender identity.  They may even begin to transition thinking it will help them feel better, but because they’re not trans, that course of treatment doesn’t work.   Transphobes, especially TERFs, prey on this confusion and subsequent disappointment by telling dysphoric cis people that they “overcame the trans brainwashing” and that everyone who transitions is just as confused and dissatisfied as they are.   The reality is, many dysphoric cis people are seriously lacking the legitimate treatment that they need.  Birth control, HRT, and the support of other intersex people is vital to their mental (and sometimes physical) well being, but they aren’t getting that help because they’re being convinced by others that they don’t need it.

TERFs and transphobes have done near irreparable damage to the relationship between dysphoric cis people and trans people.  In theory, we should be working together to provide the best course of care for every dysphoric person by encouraging both transition and awareness for conditions that cause dysphoria.  Instead, we’re constantly fighting over whether each other even exist or “deserve” care.  And that’s exactly what transphobes (and intersexists) want.  They want us to do their dirty work by discoursing each other out of existence.

happy pride to every male & masc queer who feels alienated from the community during pride month. many places are taking to create "she+" and "femme & them" type events that conflate non binary identities with womanhood without creating similar spaces and events for mascs & men, leaving many trans men and mascs to feel totally alienated because their is no designated day or space for them to celebrate. while it's great to celebrate femininity & womanhood, we should be celebrating queer manhood and masculinity alongside it. it's important to have groups and events for all members of our community

if you feel alienated because you don't fit into these spaces, happy pride to you. happy pride to the butches and lesboys who don't feel safe going to lesbian events because of this. happy pride to trans mascs & men who don't have a space to go or a day to celebrate themselves. happy pride to non binary queers, genderqueer people and gnc people who are not feminine or female and have nowhere to go. happy pride to masculine and male intersex people who can't exist in the spaces they want to.

happy pride to cis masc and male queers who feel completely estranged from the community. happy pride to trans girls who are also men who cannot express their manhood at the risk of people using it as a weapon to misgender you. happy pride to the bigender and multigender people who are have to prioritize their feminine or female identities in order to make other people "feel safe." happy pride to the genderfluid people who don't get to talk about their masculinity or manhood. happy pride to the masc gays who feel alienated

we deserve to celebrate ourselves as well. take care of yourself this pride month
