SHROUDED TRUTH: What lies behind a photo?

A photograph was seen at the doorstep of the Night Raven College library this morning. I tried picking it up for closer inspection, however, the sight of this... cold, dark substance was a blaring red flag to avoid doing so. Luckily, █ █ █ █ █ █ showed up. Since he had gloves on, he managed to pick it up with no problem.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard we tried to clean it off, the picture remained unclear. The substance penetrated through the printed ink, fully shrouding the truth behind it.

Suppose the picture isn't entirely a piece of junk either. Upon flipping the picture, the back reads:

AFEL CMY UEL'X KIC GSR'R LMVR CGY, RLMW UI KLYPD TPC QSSV WCCW JMELL AGHW SNIF XM XZI ZPARBMFK RVMXF. OPEN YOUR EYES.

At the moment, we don't know what this means. What doesn't help is that Ms. Eliza doesn't seem interested in discussing the matter. We're truly left in the dark with this one.

The Librarian lets out a scoff.

“But…” Eliza pauses for a second, furrowing her eyebrows in pure annoyance. She forces herself out of this momentary pause with an exasperated sigh.

“I suppose we have to keep her records here. As much as I’d hate to say it, Pipe- Err, The Janitor, is quite relevant to our investigations.”

“…Ugh! How utterly, utterly humiliating to admit!”

A moment or two passes. The buzz of silence loudly echoes through the recording.

What she says next is hard to hear, but somehow the recording manages to capture it—

“I’m… glad you considered to inconvenience me one more time.”

A confession of vulnerability.

Shrouding herself with fog, Piper can submerge within it and vanish out of sight, leaving not a trace behind. With enough amount of fog generated, she can create an area of which people can completely disappear into.

The Lewis family has helped funds many academic institutions, including Night Raven College. But none in the family is as dedicated as one Piper Lewis, who took matter to her own hands.

Grew up in wealth, Piper possesses the air and reserve of a noblewoman. So it’s a surprise to see a person of such status be stationed as such. Perhaps it’s to keep track of where the money actually goes or to keep an eye on a certain headmaster…

Nevertheless, no one actually has seen the woman, as she always keeps her distance from others as much as possible, exchanging pleasantries only when necessary. Information regarding her only seems to come from word of mouth. There’s one that says “I heard she used to be a captain of a ship before coming to NRC!” Huh. Weird.

Despite being its longtime staff, only recently did Piper frequently show herself more. This event seems to coincide with the appearance of the newly-appointed librarian. Though, the two seems to be at odds with each other. Words say they have quite a harrowing history.

Eliza is an alumnus of Night Raven College, having been under Trein's tutelage like Crewel. She doesn't mention which dorm she was in.

During her days as a student, she was a reporter for the previous Twitcher's Column. They heavily relied on her for information, as her UM was utilized as a hack to spy on people.

She's married divorced married divorced married divorced to another NRC staff member. She doesn't wish to specify who for some reason.

When it comes to the library, she's extremely adamant about cleanliness. If she catches you eating there, you better start running.

For some reason, Eliza has a 2 feet metal pipe under her desk. She claims it's for self defense, but that's quite overkill...

The Twitcher’s Column is a Journalism Club that reports the esoteric anomalies of Twisted Wonderland. Their main goal is to record and file anything related to the supernatural and publish these reports to the public.

< This is an NRC club twisted from The Magnus Institute. >

[⚜️] Sinclaire Twitcher, one of NRC’s previous Librarians, founded the club upon great interest and passion towards the paranormal.

The club was shut down a few decades ago due to an unnamed incident. However, Elizabeth Warden, the current NRC Librarian, has reinstated the club in hopes to rekindle that ceaseless curiosity in the student body.
