I haven't lettered in a few days. I've been sick and working on the new course. But I decided to do a few more of these drill videos today to warm up my hand a bit. Day 10 #BetterMeJune Sometimes, most of the time, a perfect layout doesn't just happen on the first try. Here you can see I'm using a light pad to trace my letters and I'm changing them up a little bit to make them fit better. So don't be afraid to use tracing paper or light pads, I do all the time, and pencils are a must. #letteringlayouts #letteringco #letteringvideo #handletteringdaily

I've been waiting all week for my new iPad to get here, and today is d-day. It's coming, it's on the truck, but of course it won't be here till around 6. The waiting is killin me. Day 9 of #BetterMeJune I can do it too. How many times do we see someone doing something we want to do. Like they beat us to the punch. Just remember that your ideas and art is just as good, if not better. You can do it too. It's good to be aware of what's out there so we don't come out looking like we copied, in that case change it up a bit, but still do it. Day 6 of #BetterMeJune #lettering challenge. I'm testing it a new brush pen I got. I really like it. Although the ink flow is slow, it gives it a really nice texture. This video is not sped up so you can see how slowly I'm going and it's still giving me a nice textured dry look. Check it out is called Fude Nagomi Brush Pen from @jetpens #lettering #brushlettering

Day 2 of #BetterMeJune #lettering challenge. "I will stop comparing myself" to anyone that I "think" is better than me. It's something most of us struggle with in an off, especially now with social media and seeing what other artists are doing. We compare ourselves to them and then what? We feel bad! So this month I'm putting a STOP to that sort of thinking. This month I'm focusing on being me, and LOVING IT!!! . . I'm also trying to find me, what makes me happy and what I want to share with the world. So far I got #books and #nature. lol I asked my 4 year old daughter today what she thinks makes me happy and she said going outside 😂
