The Sims 4 Filipino Translation Mod (early concept beta)

I know, this isn't a Sims 2 content, but for the past year or so, I've been more of a Sims 4 player and as of lately, I am curious if I can translate the game because i have barely managed to do it on The Sims 2 (but for the complication of that mod itself; like shredding character files; i decide not to share that one.) So now, here we are in The Sims 4, my attempt on translating the game is on my side because there's an external program for translating the string text in the game, which is The Sims 4 Translator on GitHub!

This is the first and early release for the mod and I would be glad if anyone would be interested on helping me to this. I have barely touched the basic stuff there like dialogue and so on; I only worked on some of the UI elements currently. SOME.

And for the people who are asking; specially probably the Filipino simmers out there: WHAT IS THIS?! WHAT'S the POINT?! WE CAN PLAY THE GAME IN ENGLISH!!

That's just the few that I'd be willing to share for now. You get the point! Now, if you made it this far and are interested on helping out with the translation; Please! I'd be gladly accepting any help because this is pretty much a passion project for me at the moment. this was requested by Fysh over on the simscord, and i have wanted to do something like this for almost a year now, so of course i jumped at their suggestion! have 8 new, modest outfits and head coverings for muslim sims, created by @bokchoijo, converted to ts2. have the first part of the modesty collection!

as someone who has grown up in a muslim country (but is not muslim myself) i have always felt sad by the lack of modest clothing options this game has. not everyone wants to wear 987 different crop tops out (though of course, they have the option to!) i really hope this can add more diversity and representation to my own game, and others' 🥰

i don't pretend to be perfect, so i won't pretend that this set is, either. at certain extreme angles or facial features you may notice some deformations with the hijabs, certain spots of skin poking out, etc. i have done my best to limit these oddities to the minimum, feel free to check out my creation process over on the simscord! but i have always hoped to add more representation and diversity to my game, and i pray this makes you guys as happy as it has made me 💖 please, please don't be afraid to let me know if i screwed up anywhere!

something cutesy suggested by @grilledcheese-aspiration: @pixelunivairse's sleek n' steel mini fridge recolours converted from ts4 to ts2, plus the discover university fridge they're on itself! this is just the mesh and pixelunivairse's recolours; i decided against converting the maxis ones because they were a bit too generic to me 😅

the fridge is 1246 polys, comes in all 17 swatches, and is functional as, well, a mini fridge! it is animated (with some caveats, see below the cut) and has different morphs for under- and out of-counter placement. perfect for your cutesy sim kitchens!

unfortunately, the glass texture of the inside of the fridge is kinda warped? it looks like that in milkshape too, i really don't know why 🙁 there is also a transparency issue where the top of the door appears transparent, but it shouldn't be too noticeable? i hope...

Building tip: Tileless doors and arches

If for whatever reason (example below) you ever want to remove the floor tiles that appear when you place a door or arch on a second floor or above, it's pretty easy to do. Just place frillen's invisible tiles over the floor tiles. Note that this is not just an invisible floor, otherwise there would still be a trim around the tiles. This is a buy mode object you place on the floor.

PSA: BAD LITTERBOX

i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.

there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.

please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends

GCKP's skylines are also victim to the texture size issue. the texture size cut off point for ts2 is usually 1024px, however these are 2048px. i will be resizing these but this is just a discovery i made and felt the need to let community know as EVERYONE uses these
