What was the camille slipper story?

It was in the rolling stone article during Fine Line promo:

Last year, Harry was in the gossip columns dating the French model Camille Rowe; they split up last summer after a year together. “He went through this breakup that had a big impact on him,” Hull says. “I turned up on Day One in the studio, and I had these really nice slippers on. His ex-girlfriend that he was really cut up about, she gave them to me as a present — she bought slippers for my whole family. We’re still close friends with her. I thought, ‘I like these slippers. Can I wear them — is that weird?’

“So I turn up at Shangri-La the first day and literally within the first half-hour, he looks at me and says, ‘Where’d you get those slippers? They’re nice.’ I had to say, ‘Oh, um, your ex-girlfriend got them for me.’ He said, ‘Whaaaat? How could you wear those?’ He had a whole emotional journey about her, this whole relationship. But I kept saying, ‘The best way of dealing with it is to put it in these songs you’re writing.’”

What also worked for hamille was that Kid Harpoon and Harry shared the shoes story all dramatic making it seem like Harry was heartbroken and that Harry called her his ex girlfriend. That's why most fans think she was the one breaking his heart by breaking up with him even though the official story was that he cheated lol I have a lot of friends that have 1 year long relationships mostly so I never cared for that about his stunts and some younger fans are probably on the same boat but the lyrics really don't match that vibe.

The only reason anyone thinks he cheated is because of the lyric about his “wandering hands”. But give me a break. But him actually referring to her as his ex-girlfriend was something he’d never done before and seriously I hope he never does again.

Also, that story about the slippers was so embarrassing. I can’t believe he let them say that. 🥴

Do you know what I do to not let stunts ruin the albums for me? It's very simple, if it's a very profound love song, I always assume they're talking about each other, idc what the official narrative is. And when the stunt part of the song is too much to be ignored I just go to the it's just a song mentality 🤷‍♀️ I know I'm being delulu but whatever works

do you think that after taylor harries will finally realize the pattern / not be obsessed with every girl he “dates” and then forget about them when they break up … i wasn’t around for camille, but especially after horrendous holivia, this seems like the most the fandom has ever liked a “girlfriend” being that they are the same age, she is a person of color, and she seems very nice and private. i feel like once he drops her before or after hs4 (as always) this might be the time people finally realize “oh he can’t commit to anyone” or “oh these songs about a long relationship don’t match up with his constant year long flings” … i don’t know, it just feels like the hussell breakup will be the final straw…

I seriously doubt they’ll change. Almost no one believed holivia was a real relationship. So I wouldn’t even calculate that into your thinking.

People were divided on Camille. She trolled the fandom a bit in annoying ways and she has done/said some stupid things that people dug up (as per usual). But he really didn’t have to do much with her. She was effective, though, because it was the first time he looked like he was “settling down” and then the harries loved them because they believe Fine Line was about her, so “clearly he really loved her and she broke his heart”. Perhaps some will wonder why he keeps going from relationship to relationship. But unless something really awful comes out about TR, I think they’ll still love her, but they’ll move on to the next one as soon as he does.

I really hope his team finds a better way to promote him. It’s so lame.

Am I the only one who prefers this current stunt over everything that has happened with Harry's dating life in a long time? It's quiet, she doesn't seem like a monster, she's not stuck to his back, it's just a few appearances here and there, and for once he's being seen as the nice supportive boyfriend and people are talking positively about him on that front.

I don't understand the obsession with the stunt ending? What after it ends? It's not like people are magically going to stop talking and wondering about his love life, neither is he coming out the next day of the bua, it'll just go back to any random person making up gross stories about hooking up with him and him being connected to any and every woman around him until the next stunt comes along, which we don't know how much worse that person could be. Of course in an ideal situation he wouldn't have to do any of this and could just live his life and make his music. Why is this so bothersome to people? This is literally as low maintenance as it could get!!

Yeah, I don’t get it, either. I guess people feel that if they break up everything will be so much better, or he’ll come out. But history tells us that this is completely untrue.

All that will happen is everyone and their mother will say they’re hooking up with him and then we’ll get another beard who might be so much worse than TR.

I wish I could enjoy HS4 without songs that reference TR. But apparently that's not going to happen, right? These public trips to the places he claims to love. This seems designed to link this album to her, as was HS2 to C

Well, I don’t care about the narrative they spin. I loved Fine Line and I’m pretty certain I’ll love HS4. I think it’s up to you whether you allow PR to ruin something for you. No one cared that Louis explicitly said Walls was “all about” Eleanor. Why care about this? To each their own, but if I didn’t let Olivia ruin Harry’s House for me, TR won’t either.

I would like to see single Harry as well, i dont understand why he always has to be in a relationship. But at the same time, when he is single, people make up lies about them being fuck buddies (like that one girl who was pet sitting the fish?) and he gets linked with every female that breathes near him. Theres this saying in Turkish “iki ucu boklu değnek” means “a stick with two ends covered in shit”😁 We say this when we are in a situation with no good options

LMAO! That’s so much more descriptive than “caught between a rock and a hard place“ which is saying in English. I need to use that from now on. But, yes. Being single is a pretty shitty option given the way people lie about him.

The photo of him hiking was at Mount Takao. That cropped photo...he was in conversation with one of the tour guides. April..cherry blossom season..is one of the most busy times to visit there. While I've not seen anyone else who was there say he was with a woman...he surely wouldn't go there to NOT be seen by tourists.

That’s a really good point. I mean, we for sure know that he’s there to be seen. He wouldn’t be riding the subway etc. if he wasn’t. And, as you point out, he’s in a heavy tourist area, which is what he always does when it’s time to be seen (even in London).

I think Eleanor and Louis came to an understanding for 2.0. I agree she seemed to be in his employ not modesty’s and she didn’t troll people or seem to antagonize Harry and they weren’t walking everywhere superglued by their hands. I’m not sure I’d say they were friends but friendly at least, like a coworker you enjoy working with and might get the occasional drink with but aren’t cozy cozy with. Also they’d grown up a bit, they knew how to navigate fame. Eleanor 2.0 didn’t bother me at all and tbh I’m glad she got Clifford. None of the 1D boys are in a position to be pet owners unless they have stay at home partners at this point. Liam if you get one more dog that you inevitably rehome I s2g I’m going to live in your walls.
