hi i think it’s kind of sad that L’s monster speech in relight is always quoted without the visuals it goes along with so here’s a transcript

(L logo on a computer) there are many types of monsters in this world.

(pan to mello) monsters who will not show themselves and cause trouble,

(pan to the crowd of wammy kids) monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood,

(pan to near) and… monsters who always tell lies.

(back to the L computer) lying monsters are a real nuisance. they are much more cunning than other monsters.

(picture of L in a hallway, walking in the other direction from the wammy kids) they pose as humans, even though they have no understanding of the human heart;

(picture of the wammy cafeteria, focusing on mello, who is eating by himself away from the other kids) they eat, even though they’ve never experienced hunger;

ryan atwood is truly the character of all time like. he’s the brooding bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks but he’s also the moral compass of the story. he got adopted by his public defender. he stayed at the cohens’ house for one night and immediately decided he was ride or die for their geeky ass son. he has started at least four fights at fancy parties. he has a savior complex. he’s afraid of emotional intimacy. he is loyal to a fault. his type is girls who are just a little annoying. he is the king of the side-eye. he has experienced unimaginable levels of trauma. he’s 5’7”. he’s afraid of heights. he wants to be an architect. he stole a car. crashed it. he’s whoever you want him to be. he even played snoopy in his eighth grade production of you’re a good man charlie brown.

Project Ghostlight: Private Nightmares keeps blowing my mind with each episode but this time what they did was truly spectacular.

The first part of the episode was just so goddamn good. They've played with space and movement before but this!?!? The change of camera position during Jade's scene, like we're the ones trapped in the box, Alex/Beast lurking in the background. The background sounds of a performance, occasional bursts of laughter under Gabe's conversation. The peek into how confusing the Beast can be with Eddie. The absolutely delicious scene with Katie, how the tone switched depending on whether we were in Katie's head or saw her with her ex-husband.

It's SO good. And with the season finale fast approaching I think this is a perfect time to give it a try if you haven't already or to rewatch all the episodes

I loved this opening monologue so much and it just felt so moving after rewatching it AFTER what happens during episode 6 that I wanted to make it into something...

Naomi is such an incredible character, brought effortlessly to life by the wonderful mayanna berrin and her recent arc of trying to make sense of her messy life (and eating habits) as a thinblood while reevaluating her place within her once-human relationships has been so emotionally charged to watch. I think theres something so relatable about Naomi too- I think back to her Prologue a lot where she speaks of different masks we all wear as we try to make sense of this world we're in, never knowing if we've found the right one yet and coming to terms with the fact she never did find it- a place where she felt right then knowing she has another chance now... perhaps it will all be different. Right?! Everything will be okay... I hope...!

I need more people to watch Private Nightmares because I don't make visual art/gifs/draw things and I have a rabid need to grab my friends by the neck and scream "watch this!" which would probably go better with visuals.

Hoo boy, this was a project I've been sitting on eagerly for a while. My lovely friend @tudor-rose-art and I, though not at the same time, both had the idea of "Wouldn't it be fun to make a media poster/cover of the Private Nightmares coterie?" So we decided to make it a collab, because that's always fun.

I was heavily inspired to create a comic book cover, whilst they've made an incredible movie poster. Seriously, check them and their artwork leading up to the full piece out -- It's been an ambitious labor of love that's helped to motivate me whilst working on my own piece. (You may have to check their insta for it, in which case, give them a follow over there!)

Calling all fans of heavy rp actual plays, vampires, and good shows, new VTM chronicle and actual play Private Nightmares has two episodes on the Project Ghostlight YouTube channel -the third just aired but won’t be up until Monday. Alexander Ward serves as storyteller for the players, consisting of Aabria Iyengar, Luis Carazo, Xander Jeaneret, Mayanna Berrin, and Gina Devivo. The twist? They’re all Thinbloods.

They are knocking it out of the park! Easily one of the best things I’ve watched this year. Episodes are around 2 hours, airing every other Friday and uploaded the following Monday.
