This week in photo class we were asked to take photos inspired by the genre of photo we took last week. Since my genre of photo was good I took to the kitchen to find some popping olors that would stand out in a photo. In these photos I took I really liked the texture and burnt look of the corn against a white background making it pop but the corn not being a perfect yellow honestly made the picture look even better. This is a project I would most certainly do again.

This week in photography class we were asked to find specific type of photography that we like and or are interested in. I chose food because in this time of uncertainty it is something that a lot of people turn to for comfort as well as the fact that I just love food. The two photographers I found were Mauro Turatti and and David Tortora. Turatti’s corn photo caught my eye because of the golden color of the corn really popping against the white background. Tortora’s caught my eye because of the really rustic material look on the table cup and spoons against some purple ice cream which you think of as creamy and delicious. Both photos have aspects to them that I will take into my own photography.

This week in Photography class we were asked to take a look at the photos shown in this New York Times showcase of photos from around the US. I found that most to all of the photos envoke a feeling in me some gloom dark photos some light happy photos and this is shown through all the prospects of each photo. What I mean by that is the photos show emotion and expression through lighting setting expressions on faces body language and much more which is something I can take into affect in my photo taking.

This week in photo class we were asked to look for photo apps that we may like to use to make our photo process easier and or make our photos look more appealing with the help of the app we chose. I chose the app Enlight Pixaloop as my app because the editing is beyond what I thought of. Pixaloop expands the possibilities in terms of editing and real life looking photos and “moving” photos.

This week in photography we were asked to tell a story. My story was the story of the orange and how it changes over time. The first photo is a fresh bought orange the second is one that has been sitting a package for a week and the third is one sitting in a package for 3 weeks. There is difference in color and shape as the orange changes over time.

This week in photo class we were asked to take photos of food as it is scene to be something that comforts us in time of uncertainty. The first photo I took is one of a flame and I liked the way it looked against the rustic background of the stove. The second photo involved oranges and I'm the center a lime to draw your attention to the photo with color contrast and bright colors vibrating of of the simple white of the table. Lastly I have a picture of a biscuit on a white plate against a white table and I lol the simplicity of it and it makes the photo look very clean and clear cut.

This week is photography we were asked to to take photos in or around home with the options for taking a selfie, portrait of someone who's not in the photo, portrait of a family member during quarentine and lastly a family portrait. I decided to do a portrait of someone who's not in the photo aswell as a portrait of a family member. I used Snapseed to edit the photos to make them much more clean looking.

Here are some before and after photos of using Snapseed to edit my photos to make them look the best they can. This week we were assigned to take photos of landscapes and nature and venture outside to take some photos of the world around us. My goal in this was to find natural photos that would have color contrast or colors that pop and catch your eye. For example the contrast of the mushroom brown against the grass and both flowers that pop with bursting color. Overall this project was fun and joyful.

These are my AFTER results from some of the previous photos of editing on Snapseed. With these photos I adjusted the lighting and mood to make the photos enhance color and make the interesting features pop out more.

This week in photo under the circumstances we were asked to take photos at home and way from school. We were asked to use the prior skills we learned such as SCAREE to take interesting photos. What I did with these photos was take everyday items that I may use or plain items and put them up against something more interesting to highlight the contrast between the two. These were my BEFORE results.

This week in photography we experimented with surrealism. This type of art focuses on displacement, putting things where they usually aren't and or suprise and dream like photos or pictures. In this photo I had a couch and took multiple pictures of Nate on the couch in different positions. After this I photo shopped him onto the original photo with just the couch creating this photo.

This week in photography class we went into photoshop and experimented with blending and or combining two images to make them look seamless. We started by practicing with pictures of bread and cheese putting the meat and cheese on top of the bread and making it seem realistic. Fro then on we took animals that we thought looked similar may have had the same color or body types fit each other so that we could create some sort of super animal while making it look real.

In this week of photography ( the week of feb.10th) we finished up a project taking photos inspired from forms of art including performance art, Surrealism, Realism, Post-impressionism and much more. I ended up choosing Futurism which has an emphasis on movement, speed, danger, machinery, technology, youth, and violence. This is why I chose this picture creating a very gory and violent looking scene.

Here are 3 photos that I took and the 3 others that are the same photos just edited on a desktop. Our assignment was to go outside and take abstract photos so we did just that and came up with these photos. While editingI changed colors, exposure and even zoomed in on some photos. What do you think these are photos of?

Today in class we are making mixed media and artistic photos using some of the photos we've already put through the photo making process. So the possibilities are endless as we can make any affect we want

Today we started a new project experiencing new lenses and figuring out how to work with each and how each lens is different. I ended up using a 6.5 mm fixed lens with no zoom a 135 mm fixed lens with no zoom and a 80-200 mm zoom lens. I liked the larger fixed lens the most because it allowed me to take a lot more different times of photos than the other two.
