Geometric patterns are especially favoured in interiors as they add a unique look that can easily be tied into a range of different interior design styles, from the elegant Art Deco look to more casual, beachy vibes and of course, vintage design styles!
Vintage design styles are traditionally characterised by a range of geometric patterns that include a selection of interlocking shapes such as cubes, circles, triangles and hexagons. You will also find a range of exciting colours and shades included in such designs ranging from smooth neutral tones (such as beige, creamy whites, soft greys and deep charcoals) as well as brighter options such as blue, teal, emerald green, earthy reds (such as terracotta for example) and burnt orange. Pastel tones are also common in a vintage colour scheme, offering the perfect alternative option to the more traditional neutral tones; You will find that soft pastel tones will pair exceptionally well with a range of different trending materials such as timber, concrete and natural stones making them an excellent choice where you are after something different than the traditional neutrals of white, grey or beige.
Using geometric vintage pattern wall tiles, you can create a truly show-stopping look that is elegant, timeless and simply bursting with creativity! From stunning marble wall tiles to luscious concrete and durable porcelain varieties, there is a world of possibilities to choose from!
Vintage Wall Tile Patterns using Marble
Natural marble has been a staple in architecture and interior design since ancient times. It’s rich, luxurious vibe is unmatched by any other material making it a sure classic for use in any interior design style, from classical interiors to more modern or contemporary design schemes. Marble can be sourced in a range of naturally occurring colours from the smooth whites we’re familiar with to deep charcoals and blacks, soft pinks and even stunning jade tones. Each variety of marble will create its own unique look in your design however you will find that they do all share a common trait: they can all easily be paired with an impressive range of trending materials and finishes! Each of these colourful marbles will pair perfectly with trending materials such as timber and concrete as well as a range of stylish hardware such as brass, bright gold and matte black, allowing you to take advantage of the timeless and elegant aesthetic offered by a natural stone while also incorporating a range of current trends into your interior design scheme.
When selecting natural products such as marble wall tiles for your interior design project, it is important to consider their care and cleaning guidelines. Natural materials are porous; any powder or liquid spills and splatters should be cleaned up off the surface in order to keep them from absorbing into the stone and causing a stain. Natural marble tiles should be properly sealed at regular intervals in order to ensure their longevity and protect this elegant material from damage. Despite the care and maintenance associated with natural stone wall tiles, their beauty and elegance is simply unparalleled making them a well sought after finish for any interior.
Vintage Inspired Concrete Wall Tiles
Concrete tiles (also referred to as encaustic tiles) have traditionally been made using dyed cement that is poured into moulds and templates to create the desired pattern in the tile. As the colours are included within the cement mixture, you will find that the colour runs right through a traditionally made encaustic tile. These tiles can often be used as both a wall or floor finish as the material is incredibly hard wearing and durable enough to withstand large amounts of foot traffic, provided the tiles receive the right care and maintenance throughout their lifespan.

What is Strapping And Benefits of Strapping
You’ve heard of “strapping”, but you’re not sure what’s involved. Basically, strapping means binding and bundling items together. Strapping is used in transport, manufacturing, construction, and farming—anywhere there’s the production and the need to ready items for storage and transport.
Materials used for strapping, as well as the tools and machines used to apply strapping, come in many different varieties.
Let’s look at strapping in more detail, starting with the materials used to create straps.
Safe and secure strapping: materials
In many industries, traditional materials like steel have been replaced by varieties of plastics and composite materials.
Steel strapping: traditional and widely used
Steel strapping is used in construction and other heavy industries; it’s sold by weight.
Although it’s been supplanted by newer materials over the past decades, steel strapping, with its high tensile strength, is still preferred for its reliability. It comes in many different widths and thicknesses in a variety of grades of steel, as well as in different finishes. Popular finishes for the steel include bluing, wax, and paint.
Plastic strapping materials, such as polypropylene and polyester, are often preferred to steel
When appropriate, companies prefer to use plastics such as polypropylene and polyester for strapping. Not only do plastics offer a lighter weight when compared to steel, but they also help to reduce costs. Sometimes the cost savings in plastics can be as high as 50% over using steel.
Plastics tend to offer safety benefits over steel too, both safety for products, as well as for operators. Plastics are softer and more malleable, so are less likely to damage goods. Steel, with its sharp edges, can be hazardous to operators when placed under tension. And unlike steel, plastics are corrosion-resistant; they’re less likely to rust and become damaged by chemicals.
Plastics also offer benefits in transportation. They offer better shock resistance than steel, and unlike steel strapping, they offer higher compression. This means that plastics can hold heavy loads—which are inclined to shift in transport—more safely and securely.
Currently, environmental sustainability is an ongoing concern.
So in many industries, there’s a preference for plastic strapping because plastics are virtually indestructible… Plastics don’t break down easily when added to landfills. In addition, if they’re incinerated, plastics give off toxic fumes. Recycling plastics is the only way to manage them safely, so there’s a huge and ongoing effort to recycle them.
Solutions have gradually been developed to reuse and recycle plastics, including plastic strapping. Today, many companies offer recycled plastic strapping.
In addition to the many varieties of materials used in manufacturing strapping, there’s a big variety of tools available to use straps safely and economically.
Strapping’s tools: manual, semi-automatic and automatic
Many companies use manual tools for low-volume strapping. Not only do these manual tools apply straps easily, they also tension the strap, making packages more secure. Manual tools are inexpensive and portable, but they are slower than strapping machines.
Battery-operated handheld strapping tools are both portable and are available as kits, with either steel or other form of strapping material. The benefit is that battery tools both tension and seal straps without requiring metal buckles.
Once product volumes increase in factories and warehouses, hand tools are insufficient. Companies require semi-automatic or fully automatic strapping machines.
These machines are more expensive and require installation, but they enhance productivity and profitability.

Strapping: Secure Product Packaging via Strapping and Banding
Strapping and banding are vital packaging considerations when you’re shipping goods to your customers. You want your goods to be packaged securely, so that they arrive at your customer’s door in the same condition they left.
Strapping’s Benefits: Secure Travel, Safe Arrival
The terms “strapping” and “banding” can be used interchangeably. They refer to securing goods, not only to combine them into single packages but also to stabilize them in their shipping containers.
There’s considerable choice in strapping materials.
Popular strapping materials: choose the best material for your needs
Materials used for strapping tapes vary according to use; whether you need heavy duty tapes, lightweight tapes, or something in between.
Consider secure steel strapping for heavy or hazardous loads, including concrete, metal, and bricks. Steel strap comes in various widths and is sold according to weight.
Commonly used on light to medium weight loads, popular polypropylene straps may not be suitable for hard outdoor materials like bricks—unless it’s specially treated.
Without special treatment, a polypropylene strap is affected by ultraviolet light and also loses tension after packaging. This can be dangerous.
Nylon and polyester plastic strap are used for lightweight loads, with polyester often preferred because it’s cheaper.
Once you’ve chosen your strapping materials, how will you apply them to your loads?
Strapping Tools Available: Handheld Or Machine
Strapping tools vary widely in size and application, from handheld tools to large automatic machines.
For small everyday and occasional loads, handheld strapping tools combine a tape dispenser with a facility which tensions, seals and cuts the tape. Handheld tools can be manual or automatic.
In high volume situations in which a machine is required, strapping machines can be either powered, or for manual use.
Fully automatic machines are also available with two options: either inline, for use on a production line, or freestanding.

Different Tile Patterns: 7 Layout Ideas
When you are selecting new tiles for your interior design project, it is absolutely crucial to also take their layout pattern into consideration and of course, ensure this information is accurately communicated to your Tiler. Tile layout patterns can either be specified and shown in your Designer’s or Builder’s drawings and documentation to ensure that all trades working on your project are all on the same page or, your layout preferences can be communicated to your nominated Tiler on site prior to laying the tiles themselves.
Tile pattern and layout designs are incredibly varied so it is especially important to properly communicate your preferences to your Designer, Builder and Tiler to ensure your expectations are met. Thanks to the many material and shape variations available in tile designs, you are sure to find a tile combination that is perfectly suited to your own unique style and project, from the more traditional stacked and vertical stacked layouts to the more modern scattered and basket weave layouts.
Stacked Tile Layout
A stacked tile layout uses the tiles to create a ‘grid-like’ pattern, with each tile sitting directly on top of the tile below it. The tiles are ‘stacked’ over one another, setting a very structured and geometric scene in your design that can work especially well in more modern or contemporary styled interiors. When selecting your tile grout, it is important to consider whether or not you want to accentuate the grid pattern of the stacked layout or create more of a seamless finish. A contrasting coloured grout will draw more attention to the grid layout whereas a complementing or matching coloured grout will create more of a seamless finish making this style more suited to smaller spaces where too much visual clutter can detract from the overall design experience.
Vertical Stacked Layout
Most popular with rectangular shaped tiles, a vertically stacked tile layout flips the traditional rectangle shape on its side and runs the tiles vertically up the wall. This tile layout will once again look right at home in a modern or contemporary styled interior design project. This particular layout style provides the additional benefit of creating the illusion of added space in the room, effectively adding a sense of height to your walls. Using a vertical stacked layout, running the tiles up the walls will draw the eye upwards, allowing the ceiling to appear higher and create the perception of added height, making this style of layout perfectly suited to homes with lower ceilings.
Caption: Creating a stacked or vertically stacked tile layout doesn’t necessarily mean you are restricted to choosing rectangular shaped tiles; any elongated tile shape will also do the trick! These picket style wall tiles are laid vertically to help create the illusion of additional height in the space as the pattern draws the eye upwards in the room.
Staggered (or Brick Bond) Tile Layout
A traditional and timeless tile laying style, a staggered or brick bond layout is achieved using square or rectangular shaped tiles that can be laid in slightly staggered rows. This style of tile layout is normally seen used with the ever popular subway tiles, creating a delightfully timeless aesthetic in any interior design project, whether you are selecting your new kitchen splashback tiles or bathroom floor tiles.

Packaging Solutions: Tips To Cut Packaging Waste And Save
Looking for better packaging solutions? Before you choose a packaging supplier, consider the importance of reducing packaging waste.
The 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) are more than buzzwords today; many companies have developed waste reduction strategies to reduce costs, become more sustainable, and help the environment.
A packaging waste reduction strategy needn’t be costly. On the contrary. It may improve your bottom line, offering savings in energy and power costs as well as shipping costs.
Packaging solutions and waste-reduction: save power and shipping costs
As more companies choose sustainable packaging solutions and eco-friendly packaging suppliers, assess changes your business might make. Even small changes can have big effects over time.
For example, a stretch wrapping machine offers savings on wrapping materials. A machine can use thinner wrap than is suitable for manual application: by wrapping tightly, it uses less wrap too.
Many companies find that an industrial shredding machine is a useful investment. It recycles packaging on your premises, by shredding cardboard and repurposing it into packaging material.
