"One Without Soul." Prince Hans Westergard of the Southern Isles. Youngest childe of the Westergard Coven. Often overlooked and ignored in favor of older brothers, he seeks his own Kingdom to rule under the guise of a human - an act only his sire has managed to pull without major backlash. But he'll show him. He'll show all of them. [Independent Vampire!AU Hans from frozen. See About for more details.]

Of course she would. He hid his smile when his head was bowed and quickly sobered the moment he brought himself back onto his feet. "Thank you, your highness."
Hans pulled up his hood again and spared a glance to the rest of the garden before forcing out a sigh. "I know you'd rather have me gone now, and I don't blame you. Goodbye, Princess Anna."
Of course he had no real intentions of leaving, but his plan was to manipulate and get her to say the things needed to be said without her realizing she wasn't in her own control.
And those pheromones were very persuasive.
Kiss of Death
Anna blinked a few times, staring down at him, and everything in her was screaming no. No, no, don’t you dare, don’t do this again, this is a LIE all he can do is lie-
But … he looked so genuine. And the influence won over the rationality. Anna’s big heart was more susceptible than anything, and she spoke quietly as she accepted his forgiveness.
"I…accept…your apology." she sounded almost confused at herself, and then repeated it again, to make sure it was right. "I accept your apology, Hans."

"Thank you, your highness." Hans eventually lowered his hood, then. His hair looked far more red than it had before. Eyes sharper, easier to tell in contrast to his pale complexion now. "While I've been in exile, it has changed me. While I don't expect you to believe me, it is true."
His expression became less of his old self and more of one who'd seen and been through too much in the two years alone. Eventually he let himself temporarily to fall down to one knee, head bowed.
"I humbly ask for your forgiveness. For betraying your trust and Arendelle's."
Kiss of Death
Anna was startled when he was close, so suddenly there- and swallowed hard, out of nervous habit, though she didn’t feel nervous at all. Safeness, attraction, trust- what was going on? It all felt so…strange.
But Hans hadn’t actually laid a physical hand to her. No need to leave him now. If he really did think about her every day…for years? No one in her life but him could claim that. Not even Kristoff. She stared at him a little dumbly and gave an almost imperceptible nod, folding her hands in front of herself.
"Fine. Speak."

He was instantly in front of her the moment she turned to walk away. He smiled. Teeth a little sharper in places where they aught not to be. But he was so very close to her face now.
"You're being very inconsiderate, princess. I traveled all this way," he nearly purred again, but more like some sort of snake attempting to sound sweet and soothing with a rattling tail and venom laced lips that were suddenly very close to hers.
Hans let pheromones mix with the ones already. A temptation of trust. Of attraction. Safeness. "I haven't spent a day without thinking about you." Not quite a lie. It involved very dark thoughts she was best not knowing yet. "At least hear me out, hm?"
Kiss of Death
"You’re no friend. You’re the one and only enemy I ever made in life.” Anna would be snapping at him if she hadn’t been forced to remain calm. She smoothed out her skirts, brushed her fingers over her bodice. It was a relatively warm night, there was no reason for cloaks or collars. Her fidgeting was a result of her nervous energy, and how it was trapped within, unable to escape in the form of true emotion.
"I will entertain you for no longer. I’ll have the guards throw you out. I learned my lesson." she told him, and began to walk away, still calm.

"Is that any way to greet an old friend?" Hans nearly purred, tilting his head slightly to let the little bit of moonlight catch the side of his face. He was paler than he'd once been, and he didn't look like he'd aged a day.
However, Anna distinctly looked older. So it had certainly been some time. He smirked, flicking his eyes back at the pulse at her neck. The way she swallowed and breathed.
Her heart was loud, even when forced to be calm. He was so very distracted.
Humans.
Were very.
Distracting.
Hans paused. He'd never considered himself inhuman before. Things really had changed.
"I wanted to have a private talk with you," he finally answered, tilting his head up with a careful arch of his brow. "Your guards leave much to be desired. Not terribly good at what they do. However, made it easy to get here to you. So I can't really complain."
Kiss of Death
Quite suddenly, Anna felt a wash of calm fall over her. If it weren’t- well, calm- she would have been startled. But she couldn’t allow herself to feel so riled up, even when that figure was so very, very close, and his breath practically brushed over her ear.
The intonation of his voice was clear. She knew exactly who he was. She turned, slow- and though her words reflected her surprise and defensive nature, the pheromones forced her to remain calm.
"What the hell are you doing here?”

Prince Hans, for all who was concerned, was pretty much gone from the map. Disappeared. No one cared to find out about his life of exile. He wasn't even a prince anymore. Might as well be dead. Well, it wasn't too far from the truth.
It didn't take long for him to sense she was near. Her heartbeat was quite loud in his ears. Nearly made his teeth itch with a certain longing. But he was of stronger will than that. He didn't plan to drain her life's essence so soon.
Hans found her. He silently stepped behind her. Pheromones surrounded the princess in the attempt to keep her calm and relaxed, even when he decided to make himself known.
It was then that he leaned ever so close to whisper against her ear, eyeing the pulse at her neck. "Good evening, Your Royal Highness. It's been a long time."
Hands kept clasped behind him, eyes half lidded, and face still mostly obscured by the hood. But that wouldn't disguise the familiarity of his voice for someone like her, he was sure.
Kiss of Death
Breathing in the smell of the rich roses, Anna knew this wasn’t going to work.
Flowers were bright color and beautiful blossoms- not sleepytime. Not for her, anyway. She had too many memories of the warm sun on her freckled shoulders, and the breeze sweeping through the petals on each of these lovely sprigs of life. They weren’t going to make her tired, but there she was, hoping against hope that they would provide some sort of aromatherapy. Her hands lifted away from the underside of a bright white rose, and she stood upright again, walking around the corner of shrubbery toward quite the familiar spot.
Here, she had walked under arches of vine and flower with Prince Hans. It was around two years ago, now that she recalled, since her sister had been coronated and Arendelle had fallen into not-so-eternal winter. Her heart used to seize in her chest with pain, and anger, but it had faded gradually over time. She couldn’t harp on it, after all, the whole affair was done with and he was gone for good. He was exiled from Arendelle, the Southern Isles, and most of their trade partners wouldn’t exactly welcome him in with open arms, either. It left Hans with not many places to go, and none near the Kingdom Anna belonged to, and so she could rest easy knowing he was far, far away.
She was twenty years old now, but no less enthused about life, love, and family. She was still longing. She was still yearning for something that could really bring spirit to spirit, that could fulfill her as full as she had capacity to be filled. She was disappointed that her fairytale romance with Hans hand’t worked out- she was even more upset when Kristoff had turned out to be a better friend than boyfriend- but she was heartbroken that she and Elsa could not fit together. They had grown too far apart, there was too much to catch up on and not enough time to do it in for the busy Queen. So Anna was still just as lonely  as before.
And now she had time and age to back it up. She thought about all of this, as she brushed her fingers along the deep purple petals on the flowers that grew scattered in the bushes she had nearly shoved Hans into that fateful night. She was not at all paying attention to her surroundings, lost in the memories and emotions that came with them.

Kiss of Death
He'd forgotten the passage of time since that night. Since he'd died. Hans was fairly certain he had died. But he was still among the living. A curse and a gift. The price one would have to pay when making a deal with the creature he had met that night.
Hans still didn't fully understand everything with what he'd been given. He was learning, probably would for some time. The things he knew for certain now were the painful, hazardous reactions to sunlight, the hunger he couldn't fill with normal food, but with blood...and that somehow he was capable of influencing emotions through his own. Or if he so willed them to feel comfortable, afraid, it happened.
It took lots of practice, of course. Many mistakes. But he learned any injury made didn't last. After all, he'd already died once.
Hans used to feel a sense of disgust and guilt when he killed that first farming couple - but as time went by he didn't feel a thing. People blurred in with cattle.
But he remembered why he was making it through the mountains now. Arendelle's castle loomed ahead of him. The Gates still open despite the rumors of some monster plaguing livestock and people alike. His lips curled into a smile and he kept his cloak on to mostly cover himself as he road the cart into the gates, appearing to be a merchant delivering goods into the market place.
He'd killed the original owner not more than three days ago. When he was done with setting that up, he casually set about fixing any suspicion with a calming presence and a lingering forgetfulness as he left the market to set off for what he really wanted.
Revenge.
Hans' speed was faster than a human's by far. He could climb and jump and move as silently as a shadow in the night. It wasn't hard at all to move past the Queen's guard and make it into the royal garden's. If the princess wasn't out stargazing, he at least knew how to get onto the balcony and find her.
His eyes almost glowed under the hood as he stared up at the balcony, fists curled at his sides. He had the power to take kingdoms, but he wanted to use it first to ruin one. As Arendelle's royals had ruined him.

This was a horrible mistake. What was he even doing here? She'd caught on and now he was stuck. With the hand on his shoulder, he tensed and shrugged her off, turning his head to narrow his eyes on her. A sharper, vibrant green than they used to be, but it was dark out. Trick of the light, probably.
At least he'd already had some fresh blood in him. Otherwise she would have been a sore temptation. "Shouldn't you be more concerned about why you're seeking me out, princess?"
The problem here was that the pheromones his strain of vampirism gave out reacted on emotions present on the carrier. And right now, it was a mix of apprehension and tension. No doubt she'd feel it too the moment they flew up her nose - not that she'd notice.
Hans really needed to get all of that under control, but doing it alone hadn't been easy.
"Why are you out this late on a night like this?"
Tumblr media
He froze with his back turned from her. That voice was far too familiar to just be some random person in passing. Did she recognize him? If she hadn’t yet, she would if he spoke. It had been, what, two years now since his banishment and deal?
Hans wasn’t entirely sure his abilities were trustworthy yet.
So the best course of action was to simply ignore her and keep walking as if he hadn’t heard. Maybe she’d get the message. And really, she should be asking herself the same question.

"I like to try anything at least once," Hans argued with a light chuckle of his own before turning to join him on the balcony. He shrugged lightly. At the mention of the Southern Isles, he pursed his lips. "Well, it's not terrible." He smiled a little. "We don't have nearly as many mountains than you do here. Coming here was definitely a change of scenery."
Andy noted the face and chuckled “If you don’t like tart things you could have turned it down.” He told the other prince before sitting on the balcony. “So you’re from the Southern Isle? What’s it like there?” The other asked gripping the railing he sat on tightly.

summerprince replied to your post:"Want some chocolate?"
Andy smiled placing the chocolate in the other’s hand. “Wonderful! Tell me what you think of this, I think it’s a little tart.” Andy said making a face as he thought of the chocolate.
Hans hesitated at first, wondering if he could actually stomach this. But it was a bit too late to back out now, wasn't it? He brought the piece of chocolate to his lips for a bite while his brow raised at Andy's expression.
Tart would be the word for it. His senses were stronger than most, so then was taste. He made a face as well and cleared his throat.
"A little, yes."
And he could feel it burning down his throat.

"Um-" Shit. How could he politely refuse without making things weird? One hand he could just say yes and eat some and get sick an hour later or he could simply tell the prince he was allergic. Even if it was mostly a lie. Still, that would come off as strange.
"I'd love to have some!"Passing for human in public was going to be so problematic.

"Here's your coffee."

"I didn't-" One look at her and he decided for now he'd accept the beverage. Not that he could drink it unless she somehow decided to drop blood in the mix (which he highly doubted), but..."Thank you."

"Are you going to stand there, or d'you fancy helping?"
"Ahh... sorry, I think that's my bag."
"Here's your coffee."
"Hey-- you dropped this."
"Excuse me, do you have a minute?"
"Are you insane?"
"Why are you out this late on a night like this?"
"What are you doing?"
"I promise, it gets better. Don't jump."
"Want some chocolate?"
"Are you okay?"
"Stop-- look, I know you're trying to help, but stop it."
"MY BABY!"
"So, which one's yours?"
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"Get off the road! Bloody hell, I almost hit you!"
"Can you buy me a drink?"
"How long have you been out here?"
"I think you've got the wrong house."
"No, there's nobody here by that name."
