Orel is bearing the brunt of their misery. Orel carries the weight of their hell marriage with him for the rest of his life. I heard a theory, that Clay sees his abuse of Orel as a way of showing his parenting love. Like, "he worth it" (as he heard from Arthur "you're not worth it").

Soo, what's your opinion about it. Im really want to hear your opinion because you are one of my favourite "Moral Orel" artcreators.

Well...yeah. that's pretty much clear to be honest. Clay feels like the moment Arthur stopped hitting him was the moment he gave up on him completely. Clay's way of showing paternal love is by physically disciplining his son because that's what he felt was deprived from him. While it's a way of showing dominance, I think he too does it because he genuinely thought he was helping Orel.

Pain equals love, it means the person is still willing enough to show you what you did wrong (even if he does it....wrong.), you're still worth the hassle, your actions mean something to someone. That's what he thinks he's communicating in his mind when he hits orel

I think clay uses Danielle as narcissistic supply, he struggles at times to understand Danielle's own needs and tends to be exploitative and neglectful without intending to at times. Danielle is easily frustrated but doesn't show it. He can try to shape a situation the way he wants but a lot of the time it doesn't work on clay, since he always pushes away at the end. So instead he manipulates the people around clay to leave him all alone. When that doesn't work it causes great anger in him and he acts destructive when he's all alone. He can't really afford that anymore!!!

His negative emotions are never thrown at clay so it's not like. You know. That crazy. They manage to understand each other better than other people though.

They both lack empathy and have had issues with relationships before, they both still expect too much work from each other. Clay doesn't do anything for Danielle while expecting everything from him and Danielle does anything for clay while expecting one day that clay will return the same feelings, something that's really not built in him, it's too much work.
