Hey, any updates on what Daisuke Nakayama has been up to lately?. It’s been almost 4 years since the last post and I can’t seem to find really any information of what happened to his work post 2014. Also do you have any idea if he ever completed those ghost monkey toys that he would occasionally post progress on? Thanks
I checked his Facebook and saw he had a new blog and a new Twitter that is mostly a blog mirror/rss.
Blog Twitter It seems that he has been working on BITWORLD with NHK lately.

i have some questions. one: have you seen the youtuber rebeltaxi? he has done a series of videos talking about abandoned pilots, and in one of these videos, he showed global astroliner (that's how i found the short). two: I heard daisuke made a comic/manga, but i'm not completely sure if that's true. is it real, and if it is, what is the title? three: have you been to daisuke's weird website? thanks :)
I have not seen Rebeltaxi and will probably check them out! I have seen his website, and as for the comic, I’ve covered that very briefly here: http://ugat.tumblr.com/post/58770244672/hello-again
Hope this helps!

Hey! I found the Amazing Nuts! short Global Astroliner Gau, and I tried to look up more information about Daisuke Nakayama and that cool short he did. So now I've found this blog, along with Nakayama's own website. Now here's the question: have you found his website? It's really, weird and in Japanese. Also: can you read/speak Japanese?
Glad you found your way here, albeit a little bare since I only monitor this blog now. I have seen his website and a couple of other blogs he used to host back in the mid 2000s, which are all extremely interesting, but I unfortunately cannot read or speak Japanese.

Do you know what Daisuke Nakayama is up to recently? I take it that UGAT ended up being nothing more than what was shown.
He posts once or twice ever other month now on Facebook, which he used to post more frequently. I’m assuming he may be working on a lot of NDA kind of work and doesn’t have much time to work on his own projects.
So far, I’ve seen some work in progress pieces for either storyboarding/development or the next episode/edition to his already released comic.
While digging through the internet a little, I found that he doesn’t post elsewhere as much anymore, other than his FB. If anyone else has a lead as to another social networking site he partakes in, that’d be great.
UGAT is, again assuming, his pet project that he goes to when there’s time. He still uses the art as his icon and in his name, so maybe he just has a soft spot for it and hasn’t abandoned it. He’s made SO MUCH stuff for it (figures and artwork).
I’m glad you care about his work enough to ask!

So is this dead?
In a way, yes. I still do check it, but I don’t have as much content or time to update it! If people are still interested in me trying post more often, I can do my best.
This blog was a fan blog with the intent of having a sort of archive for people to come to if they’re looking for his work.

hEllo! I was wondering how you found his facebook?
Interestingly enough, I thought that because he posts things online through his cellphone, that maybe he posts his stuff somewhere else more privately (like French artists buzz around FB a lot than any other social media)? Turns out he’s more open, because I was just looking up UGAT and his name and there it was! He’s reserved but super nice!

Hey, are you considering doing a comic instead of an animated feature? I would buy the poop out of it if you did!
Hi! As mentioned, this is a fan blog for Daisuke Nakayama. He does have a kindle comic that is out, which can be found on a different post on this blog (and it is gorgeous)!I’m just a random artist who appreciates his work a lot! Sorry!

Question; Is UGAT and GLOBAL ASTROLINER going to become anything more then Music videos? Is their going to be movies or animated episodes in the future?
Hi! Not sure at this point, he seems to be in a few productions on some other works, but I haven’t seen him working on UGAT in a while. On his down time, it seems he works on either sketching or his comic (which one is on the Kindle). I believe that Global Astroliner wont ever become a more than its current state. But I feel UGAT is his ongoing long project, since he has made figurines and has created a lot of work for it already.
I don’t know what productions he has worked with recently, but here’s a storyboard from his Facebook that looks AMAZING. I want to know what it is for, I’ll try and ask him!

Why did Global Astroliner Gou get cancelled?
Global Astroliner Gou was an animated short from the animation anthology called "Amazing Nuts!" created by Studio 4C. These shorts were not really intended to become longer series, but at least Daisuke Nakayama's Global Astroliner felt more of a pilot. It seems the series itself is a bigger story that Nakayama has been working on for awhile, and it has been going through quite a bit of changes (unless they are completely different works, which I'd see that to be more of a plausible explanation).
To answer your question, it didn't get cancelled because it wasn't really a series to begin with!

Hello again!
Sorry about the lack of posting, but the last post was gearing toward the end of all the material I had for this blog. However, from running through his work again, I want to keep you informed that Daisuke Nakayama was/is working on a comic! It's called "Tokyo Fight Angel" which can be downloaded if you have a Kindle, here!
I'll hopefully be posting some process work of his during the making of it. From what I've seen, the interiors are drop dead gorgeous.

If he adds me on Facebook, I'll can try to ask him questions about his process and materials used.
Thanks for sticking around and following!
