i've been watching videos on human rights abuse by US soldiers and intelligence officers during/soon after the bush era, and if you ever research these incidents in depth, you'll conclude there is no greater evil and enemy of human rights than the US military. these people are sadists, not just inflicting the worst pain possible on others, but enjoying it. calling the screams of innocent men, women, and children "music" to their ears. demanding more of it. posing with their victims smiling for pictures.

and what happened when a whistleblower shed light on these crimes against humanity? only a few US government officials involved in the torture were charged, with the highest jail sentence being ten years. the people who survived the torture were not compensated and live with the physical and psychological trauma inflicted upon them to this day.

none of this ended, either. as one victim said, the cameras just left. behind closed doors the US government and military, supposedly representing democracy and freedom, warns the world of human rights abuse while abusing humans in the worst ways imaginable. I will not go into the details of what happened because I feel it's a story you should learn from the victims themselves who have spoken out against these crimes and detailed their experiences. (here is one famous case from the early 2000's, warning for graphic images and everything awful imaginable).

if you dig into the history of US foreign policy and don't despise the US and all it stands for, I honestly have no words. I trust nothing the sadistic monsters in the US military say about human rights abuse until they free the skeletons from their own closets and end all their operations and die.
