How old were you and Terry when you each first got published? Huge fan of both of your works and I’m always curious when my favorite authors first got published. As I get older I feel like any chance of finishing and publish something I’m proud of get slimmer. I was first published when I was 22, but didn't publish any fiction until I was 23. Terry was 15.

The description of Crowley’s fall from Heaven in the book gives me an insight on how God might actually view Crowley (and it’s not a Demon).

“Satan (A Fallen Angel; the Adversary),

Beelzebub (A Likewise Fallen Angel and Prince of Hell),

Hastur (A Fallen Angel and Duke of Hell)

…

Crowley (An Angel who did not so much Fall as Saunter Vaguely Downwards)”.

We all know that God does not communicate much with both Angels and Demons therefore most of Her plans are ineffable, no one knows what exactly God’s plan is. But WHAT IF Crowley was casted out not because they were disobedient or asking questions is a punishable characteristic but WHAT IF She casted him out because only by becoming a demon, they could do miracles the way Angels couldn’t?

“Hell and Heaven do not care how the job is done”. What if God knows that the binary system doesn’t work if the morality of an action is questionable such as in Job’s case and there was someone’s needed who can do the good the way Angel’s couldn’t by default? What if she casted him out but still protected the union with Azi just because Crowley still stays as a soldier in Her system who does the Good while reading between the lines?

She casted them out because their skill set was not matching the position (disobedient and curious) but gosh he could still be useful for Her.

Demons also grieve.

She caught you: you and the Grief are in the middle of a subway car on a station far from the Bookshop that you cannot simply escape from and walk the rest. The metro trip is not long but not short enough for you to manage to distract the Grief for a moment so you can run while She looks away. As usually.

She slipped through the doors almost as they slammed shut, and you thought you were the last one to get in. She walked as if she didn't step on the floor and so you didn't even notice her grabbing the handrail you were holding onto. And initially you don't even notice her behind your own black glasses that used to serve as protection from strangers, but now they were protecting, everyone around you from your own burning gaze.

The subway noise gradually increased and at some point it just got you. And that one milesecond-long surrender gave you away instantly and She smelled you from the nearest church where She lived.

So now She is in front of you. Her long red hair with untrimmed ends, a face full of beautiful freckles make her look a bit forgotten and dusty. She looks at you and you realize She is not that young but definitely aged gracefully. Probably way older than you are because even when the universe was not yet created by you, They still had something to grieve about: something that hasn't happened yet.

She is silent but She signals with a sad smile that She caught you and you have no other choice but to accept her bittersweet gift.

A view from the side. Two strangers gazing at each other while gently moving along the machine with the terrible deafening noise surrounding them. A tall red haired man in dark glasses that he didn't need inside but still kept on and a middle aged unearthly woman who was holding his soul with her bare acidic hands.

First perspective again. There is no noise. But you two are still moving in tact staring at each other so intensely that if one of you moved an inch, the train and all around would blow up.

You slowly unwillingly close your eyes. You don't want that but someone closes them for you from the outside. She caught you off guard, you, vulnerable as a soldier on a battlefield with no armor and a piece of a photograph of a loved one he tightly grips in his hand as it would save him from the arrow that just hit his stomach.

You felt it in your gut: she caught you this time. But you'll be smarter on your next trip and will definitely take a long walk Home.

Muriel probably sold a copy of two of the original George Sand's Consuelo editions that Aziraphale helped in writing on the spot because the main heroine of the book was the one teaching the Angel the basics of musical theory and he wanted to thank Consuelo by immortalizing her image in literature.

And now while you temporarily took the role of the protector of the Books, you have to trace the 'lucky' customer and exchange the book with something they are dying to have.

Ironically, they always ask for immortality.

All things aside, I have a genuine question. Gaiman confirms Azira doesn't know about the situation with the apartment and Crowley living in his Bentley, but I don't understand why he can't get a new one?? If in order to keep a bookshop, Aziraphale doesn't require money or at least knows how to make some (Maggie paying the rent and etc.), why can't Crowley somehow utilise his magical abilities to get an apartment? What's the sacrifice for, Crowley, baby
