High-fiving Olympic gold medalist Laura Trott after my go at the Olympic Velodrome track in London. . Swipe right to see my ride up the track side - far more terrifying than it looks in the video. . I’m easy to spot in the pale blue top and as the only woman on the track. That’s not a humblebrag because it wasn’t planned, but it seems few women like to do these taster sessions. . It’s a weirdly aggressive vibe - in a repressed, don’t speak or look at anyone else kind of way - for something that is meant to be a bit of fun. . 90% first-timers, but you’d think we were at the world championships, so seriously did the men take it. Did they enjoy it? Who can say? Not a smile or word from any of them (except the one I came with, of course). Went for a canoe in Looe. Beautiful scenery on the way up the West Looe River, then the rain came. . Luckily, our guide was a marine who found us shelter under a tree, managed to build a little fire and even make us cups of tea as we waited for the rain to abate - which, alas, it didn’t. .
