Gajar ka Halwa - Carrot Halwa Vegan Glutenfree Refined Sugarfree
Hands down the most popular Indian dessert in winters is Gajar ka Halwa ( carrot halwa)! And I have here my mother’s incredibly easy recipe, with a small twist, for you to try. The winter months bring a beautiful bounty of vegetables to the market. Red carrots are the sweetest at this time of the year. And absolutely essential for this halwa, in my opinion. Which is based on my parent’s (very) strong opinion! This dessert has no charm for me, personally, with “out of season” carrots. It is indeed one of those recipes that really make a case for seasonal eating. By the way, this halwa tastes great with black carrots too. These are available for a short period of time in North India during winters and are very popular for making kanji…a fermented carrot drink. Read More...https://www.tashasartisanfoods.com/blog/

Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Scones - Vegan Wholegrain Recipe
These coffee glazed Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Scones are melt-in-your-mouth good! Sweet and tender with a slight crunch – they’re the ultimate tea companion!
I was really craving scones the other day; the buttery kind that you slather with jam and consume by the dozen! Not much later, my son came to me asking if there were any cinnamon rolls leftover from an order that had gone out. That inspired me to kill two cravings with one recipe. Thus, came the Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Scones. These are possibly the tastiest scones I have ever eaten – and I’ve had many in my day! They are tender, loaded with chocolate and the coffee glaze makes them even better. I added a bit of cinnamon which it gave a nice, deep flavour. All in all, these are like a crossover between a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll! Not a shabby duo at all. Read More...https://www.tashasartisanfoods.com/blog/

Fluffy Cinnamon Pancakes - Eggless Easy Recipe Tasha Artisan Foods
Fluffy Cinnamon Pancakes – The easiest way to make your weekend breakfast special. And to get those lazy kids to jump out of bed! I swear, this works every single time, for me. I just have to say pancakes and they come running! They even help setting up the photography boards and props, if I’m doing a pancake photo shoot. The clean up is faster than you can ever imagine…yes, that’s how much they love these pancakes! This is my basic go-to recipe. It truly never fails. You can omit cinnamon ( though why?) and add some citrus zest. Or just keep it vanilla flavored. Throw in a handful of chocolate chips or blueberries, mashed banana or diced apple. Add a teaspoon or two of coffee powder or cocoa or both. Stir in a nice fruit preserve. Read More...https://www.tashasartisanfoods.com/blog/

Cherry Gin and Tonic - Refreshing Summer Cocktail Tasha Artisan Foods

A sweet brisk cocktail to kick-start your weekend! This delightful Cherry Gin and Tonic just needs 4 ingredients and a big glass! At this point, saying its hot is an understatement. It has been a recurring theme in my blogs recently to complain about the heat and then share the food and drinks that keep me sane through it; today I continue that! This Cherry Gin and Tonic combine two of my summer favorites – cherries and cool drinks. It doesn’t hurt that the drink has gin. A far cry from my standard summer coolers of lassis and smoothies, this cocktail certainly spruced up my weekend! Last month I made a classic gin and tonic which was great! But with stone fruit season in full swing, I had plenty of cherries at home. And what recipe is not made better with fresh fruit?

Cool, fresh and crisp this Pomegranate Mojito is a fabulous summer cocktail! I particularly love how sparkly and festive it looks! I really enjoy mojitos. Really what’s not to love? Add some fresh pomegranate to the mix and you have a beautiful showstopper of a cocktail! How Can I Make This Cocktail The recipe for this Pomegranate Mojito is just as simple as it can get. I just muddled some pomegranate arils, fresh mint leaves, sugar and lemon slices along with the rum in a glass. Whiskey Apple Iced Tea - Fall Cocktail Tasha Artisan Foods

Whiskey Apple Iced Tea – This cocktail has been brewing in my head for the last month or so. And it turned out just as refreshing and delightful as I had imagined it to be! A quick trip to Himachal last week took me to the gorgeous apple country- Thanedar. A charming little hamlet, with acres and acres of apple orchards, spread all across the mountains. Clean fresh air, trees laden with red and golden apples…I really think I could’ve stayed there forever. But the city called and I came back with some 80kgs of apples! You can guess how many apple recipes will pop up here now! So the apples have been washed, stored well, and we are all enjoying the sweet crisp apples every day. But I did have to use them in some recipes, right? So a small bit has been sanctioned for this purpose and the first up is this Whiskey Apple Iced Tea. Homemade Apple Cider
As the cool weather settles in, my need for a warm beverage increases immensely. Here’s one of my old time favourites – Homemade Apple Cider! Cozy, lightly spiced, perfect drink for the family and for entertaining! I remember tasting my first apple cider in a quaint little store in Ann Arbor. I walked in to buy candles, and there they had a huge pot of warm cider with a ladle. You could serve yourself in little cups as you browsed through the store. I can assure you – I mostly stayed by the pot! I was hooked from that day onwards. It was easy to buy a gallon of apple cider from a store in the US. But since I didn’t see much of this drink here, I decided to make my own. Homemade Apple Cider What is Apple Cider Apple cider is essentially unfiltered, unsweetened, non pasteurized liquid extracted from apples. Its a seasonal non alcoholic drink, usually made in autumn and winters. This not to be confused with the fermented, alcoholic version called cider or hard cider. Fruits for Apple Cider How do you make it Making apple cider is a labour of love. It does take time, but it hardly requires any supervision. All you need to do is slice the apples and oranges ( for extra flavour) and dump everything in a pot along with some spices. From here on, simply let your stove top, crock pot or instant pot do their job. Now while the apples and spices are brewing, the whole house is filled with the loveliest of the aromas. Better than any potpourri. You immediately get warm and comforting vibes. Its so relaxing and cozy. I guarantee, you’ll want to drop everything you’re doing and just sit and feel the moment! Homemade Apple Cider Final Touches You can serve it warm or cold…I prefer warm. And yes, it works fabulously well as base to a cocktail too. A splash of rum or bourbon is fantastic here. Or use this to make a lovely non alcoholic punch…I think I should write a separate blog post or two with some apple cider cocktails and mocktails recipes! I hope this delicious Homemade Apple Cider makes it your table this season and you all enjoy it as much as we do.
